Id guess it was in the pump if you arent having any shifting issues. On a side note I think everyone doing DIY trans stuff should really document what they do so other people can help. You left out that you have the TTS kit which is kind of important. The more people know the more they can help

Maybe he didn't want to be chastised for running something TTS on his truck....

FWIW I havnt had a problem with the tts stuff for 20k until I exceeded its power limitations. Ill be pulling it out soon and take a look, Im thinking something is sticking or gummed up but Im no expert. While im in there Ill put the updated converter valve also.

Thanks for the input.

You don't need an updated valve, just a longer spacer.

If the spacer is to short why did it work fine for 20k miles? It seems as though something has changed. And since its been apart recently...... I bet its not a coincidence.

I finally got around to pulling my trans back out. Definently would say the problem is the converter flow valve assembly.

What all is in the assembly? I pulled it out, there was the valve, check ball one spring and the spacer.

The valve moved really easy felt like it moved too easy like there is supposed to be another spring or something. The spacer has a nice groove worn on the valve side and a groove on the other side from the pin like it was bangin around in there.

Give me a measurement on the length of the spacer. It will be either .750 which I am betting on or .900 which is the correct length. The .750 spacer is too short and allows the converter flow valve to stroke too far and block TCC signal ( flow to cooler ).

WHich way is the converter flow valve and spacer installed? Just want to double check to make sure it is put back together properly.

Valve goes in first with the hole facing out, then the ball, next the spring, finaly the .900 spacer. retaining pin goes in last.
