Taking out and installing the trans is honestly simple. The worst part is the starter bolts. I put mine in well under an hour
I can't overstate how much of a trans novice I am. Not to mention, time is not something I have a lot of before I go overseas. Maybe I can resume this topic with Mike or Evan when I get back. Thanks guys for the input and opinions.

When you uninstall or reinstall a trans, that literally it. There's no nternal parts except pouring fluid in the tc and sliding it on. It's bolt up. It's really not a huge job

It's really not a bad job IF you have the right tools. Lift, trans jack etc.

I'd get that MAF issue taken care of first. That could cause some shifting issues

What you guys missed is cleaning the heat exchanger and cooler. If there is crap in it, it might take a year or more to come loose. When this happens and causes big problems; we the builders will take shit for screwing it up. Remember this.:thumb:

That was the first thing I said to Evan when I walked into his shop and saw my truck hooked up to his pressure flusher , how glad I was that all that crap wasnt flowing through my new trany ! But I do know there are times that people can do it themselves , or time is a factor .

Most shops I talk to don't even consider flushing it and say it's a quick install and send you on your way. Wish I lived closer to either coast so I could drop down to Mike or Evan's shops...Does anyone know any good midwest(KC) shops that do it right including flushing, etc..?

I have a hot flush machine.

But I'm not a vendor so if me saying that is out of line please delete.

What does that mean exactly? Hot flush? I'm a noob at trans talk

A hot oil transmission cooler flush machine. Like the one being talked about in this thread. They are a high end flush machine that heats the oil up to help loosen the lodged in debris or metal.
