So, intermittently I have a stalling in my transmission. It happens when I go from a stopped position and start to accelerate out of 1st into 2nd gear. It slips and then grabs and chirps the tires a little. I checked the fluid level(both hot and cold) and all is within normal range. Wondering if anyone has any ideas. Sump filter blocked and not sending an appropriate amount of fluid?? I've also noticed my truck is lacking on powerband/responsiveness and wondering if it is defueling due to any transmission/TC issue? I'm not throwing any codes besides the dang GPCM not communicating with ECM and P0101 MAF Performance. I've yet to limp my transmission due to performance tunes. Any responses appreciated. Thanks.

And what did you think the Transgo jr was going to do for you with your mods? It's nothing but a band aid at best without a build.
Fair enough sir, I understand what you mean. My build will commence next year if the current set up holds that long. I don't mean to sound naive, but I was wondering if anyone else experienced something similar and it wasn't like a total trans failure type scenario to which they found a solution to (easy fix). To be fair, I don't hotrod my truck on my hot tune as I understand that the shift kit is a bandaid. The issue I'm having is from daily driving on a small hp tune on a regular basis.

What would yall consider a reasonable amount to spend on a "built" trans? I'm in contact with a guy out of Garden City, MO who says his guy who builds their Allisons runs a very beefed up version(more steels, etc) and he quoted me $4,500 installed, with my old trans as a core. Does this sound like a good deal? The shop I believe is a good shop and do honest work and they have installed this builder's trans in numerous trucks with no negative results to date. Any feedback welcome. Thanks.:D

I'd buy a trans from a vendor here like Mike or Evan before I took it to a local place. I did this, and it was a mistake (using local shop) if you pick it up and send your core first then I'd say you can make it out around the same price.

Food for thought I suppose. I know asking for a forever trans is asking a lot, but I want something bulletproof that will hold up to whatever I put it through. I'm not a sled puller or track guru, but I would like to eventually run twins and fix my retarded charged side intake piping, so I'd like a 700+hp DD capable trans.

If you are wanting a trans to hold up to a real 700hp daily driven tune then you need to go with one of the vendors on here. Mike gets my vote. Why wouldn’t you go with the person that does testing for Allison and suncoast. Pretty sure he’s the guy they call lol. But there are a lot of vendors here that can build you a trans

Evan and Mike both complement each other when I have talked to them and they both work closely with Suncoast to the point they have helped with the design of their own torque converters .They are great guys willing to help us !

Not all "local shops" are hacks. Some are very capable of building a good transmission. That being said I would Mike and Evan and see who they recommend in your area.

My issue is that I don't have the capability currently to install a trans even IF I knew how to, if I'm being completely honest. I installed the shift kit and I told myself, I never want to mess with anything trans related again and that is elementary in comparison to what Mike and Evan know, sooo even if I get one of their trans, it's the install that's gonna be the issue overall.
