Does anyone know of a kit or a build someone has done that replaces the stock transfer case. I've heard of some ppl using a dodge np241 29 splin but is there Andy other options? Thanks

There is no point! Our t cases have held up pretty damn good. Pointless to throw something else in there

Why would you want to do that....?

You'll break every single other part in the driveline (trans hard parts, driveshafts, axles, axle shafts, etc) before you break the stock transfer case.

The only reason's I could see for changing out would be in a swap application with a passenger side drop, or a SFA swap where you need more travel in teh splines than the stock set-up allows. I believe you can still get a fixed output for the front of the stock cases, so the only real reason to swap would be for a right hand drop unit. And the 241 is a HUGE step down in strength from the 261/263 cases. The 271 would be a step up, but is completely un needed.

I have a straight axle in the front and it's a hard driveshaft angle and I wanna do away w the slip style in the tcase. Also this is the 3rd time having my tcase rebuilt and no matter what the rear seal constantly leaks. So I want to get rid of the slip yoke there as well.

More front drive shaft options are available for the dodge transfercase.

What are you talking about? You can weld a driveshaft tube to any yoke combination you want so just cause it's a Dodge doesn't make it special.

I don't see the point in changing out the stock TCase. Unless like previously mentioned it's to match up to an SFA or if you are doing a divorced set-up. Not too many have blown up so I think their record speaks for themselves.

I believe destoked makes a different tail housing and shaft for the allison to do what you want.

Never said the t-case was better, just more front drive shaft options. you may be able to weld any tube to the yoke, but you can't upgrade the yoke to bigger u-joints.

The front drive shaft on a dodge has a flange that bolts to it (t-case side). The front shaft on a GM has a male slide in shaft, that does not have an upgrade that I am aware of. The aftermarket drive shaft company I talked to (driveshaft specialist INC) does not offer a front drive shaft upgrade for the GM.

put a ford 271 t-case in and you will be good to go. it what most with a SAS do to ditch the stock slip yoke deal and keep strength

The front diff still has the same small u-joints though

I too, had a constantly leaking rear seal in the T case. Spent a lot of time and money tracking it down. Most likely, the bushing in the rear of the T case is worn out, have you replaced it during the rebuilds? If so, I suggest you look at the mainshaft in the T case. Mine had a slight bit of "wobble" in it (not sure how, but it wasn't perfectly straight). I replaced that, and the bushing (again) and got rid of my aftermarket steel driveshaft (that was heavy as all get out and I think contributing factor) and went back to an aluminum shaft. Seals have been fine, no leaking.
I searched forums for months to find a solution, and basically got no where. I told my buddy who's a mechanic we weren't replacing the bushing again without figuring out the issue and fixing it. Just something to consider.
I realize this won't help your Straight axle/front driveshaft woes, but maybe it will help someone else. Got most of the parts from Merchant and a few from the local driveline shop.
Good luck.

What transfer case would you use if you were looking for a passenger side drop? I'm wanting to put the Allison in a Chevy truck with a Dana 60 solid front axle passenger side pumpkin.
