I just changed to 3 qts of Amsoil 5w30 this afternoon. I only took it for a short drive though, I will check for leaks in the A.M. This is on a 2006 with 49000km (30625 mi). To do this I removed the speed sensor at the top of the T-case, then removed the drain plug. The fluid comes out fast so be ready. After it was drained I put a little bit of thread sealer on the threads and screwed it back in. I didn't put the drain plug in too tight, just fairly snug I guess. I then pumped 3qts of 5w30 in through the speed sensor, then reinstalled and connected the wire again. The size of the drain plug is 18mm I believe, and the speed sensor is 19mm. I didn't touch the factory fill plug. Hope this helps. I would have taken pics, but I don't have a camera.
I know this is an old thread, but how do you guys get the fluid in the TC? do you use some type of little pump, or is there room to pour it out of a bottle under there that I'm not seeing? Thanks.
