I would get a tilt deck IMO they're a bit better then dealing with ramps.

The only issue I see looking at tilt decks is that I would almost definitely need a winch on it. Unless you would say pushing a dead car on it is possible? At least with a ramped trailer a few guys can push the car up onto it.

Thoughts on that?

my 18 has a winch and it has proved itself to be invaluable time and time again. I bought a truck box from pep boys and put all the straps and battery in it. I wired the trailer so that it charges the battery as you're driving along to the track. I've run the winch off a jump box as well.

stick a reciever hitch at the front of the tilt.. that way you can winch while tilled

I have winch on my tilt so I don't have any problems loading the by my self. I wish now I hand a remote for my tilt so I lower and raise it with me in the car. I will post pictures it you want to see.

Really tired of borrowing or renting Uhaul trailers to move my car around, so looking at grabbing a single car trailer.

Any brands to stay away from or look at? I am located in NJ and have no problem driving a ways to get the trailer from a manufacturer etc.

Car weighs under 4k lbs so the rating of the trailer seems to be confusing, do I go with what I need, or go overkill with rating? Does a gooseneck single exist?

where are you located? I ordered one made in Post falls Idaho and the price was the best i could find anywhere. should be done this friday. 12k 20ft tilte bed with brakes on both axels for 3995$ you need to find out what the net weight of the trailer is. if your never going to haul anything heavier then that you could to a 7-8k trailer. shouls be able to get one for around 22-2500.00$

we don't make a lot of normal car trailers but we do cool stuff.
those of you looking at aluminum trailers however they are lighter we offer a galvanized option. got a few tilts to but we are pretty expensive I think. I don't know though I just build them.

Thread is a little outdated but we have tow bandit trailers at work that are very nice. Custom made in Rutland ma. Very over built for what we use them for. IMO our Kaufman 5er is flimsy.
