ill trade ya for your lbz ;) youll most likely get better economy with an lb7, but I would suggest you just keep your lbz, your in arizona and there isnt really a need for 4wd unless you do offroading but If that were the case im sure you wouldnt have bought a 2wd to begin with. I think lb7 is a great motor especially without emissions if you can deal with injectors.

I'd keep the LBZ; resist the urge for change, that's what's going on.
If you're really wanting 4x4 and a crew cab I would just look for a new pickup. I love my LB7 but I would really like the 6sp, quiet interior, and not having to deal with injectors. I had to put a second set in when it had 90k miles
Either keep it or find a crew cab 4x4.

My $0.02

Thanks guys, all valid points. It would have been a key to key trade but I think I will buy it and keep both for the time being. They are both excellent trucks but I think I'll end up selling the lbz just because a crew can is more functional in the long run, and I don't feel bad putting money in the trans

I am qualified to dispute that statement......:D

My 2002 LB7 has over 160K miles, turned up HP/TQ since about 7K miles and a 2 micron CAT filter on it since around 10K miles.

Original injectors, perfect balance rates......never had any issues with them.

Since I have both it would be tough to pick, LB7 with a 6 speed would be my first choice.....

Yeah, i'm feelin the same way as you flyinelvis11.. No love for the truck that started the DMAX revolution!!!

everything evolves the newer ones are more reliable and more powerful if it weren't for lb7 injectors I would say go for it my truck is 4x4 and I have used it exactly 0 times

It usually isn't the truck, it is an inanimate object, look at the design first, yes it could be better, then look at who is working on it........just saying a lot of shops can do this job properly in under 8 hours.

LB7's will make as much power and run as well as an LBZ, I know that for a fact because I have both and they run within a 1/10 sec of each other and are similar weights.

i didnt realize what a heated debate this would become haha.. Im going up to look at the truck today for a potential sale. My only concern with keeping the lbz is resale. Arizona or not people still want 4x4, for apparently no reason but it brings my sale value way down in the long run.

This lb7 has potential to be great if I buy it ;) I do not have any aspirations to do my own injectors so maybe that is why I am considering this buy haha.

Joe, let a real mechanic work on it and your headache will go away.

Joe has no finger filter and after his LBZ turbo held up to his screwdriver endevor hes gotten this LBZ ego thats quiet funny :D. Cant wait till his crank breaks or he pops a piston

I would have traded it, if you have the money to keep your truck and buy that lb7 i would.

If it were me, first off I wouldnt have a 2wd truck. Also you go ahead and throw a built trans and slicks, fuel, and tuning in that lbz, guess what ? its still 2wd and even though you might love it first time down the track, it still will not hook enough to make you feel like the money you put in was worth it.

Also, re sell value. 2wd lifted lbz in 2 years even with mods, i wouldnt offer more than 15-16k.

It would be easier to get more money out of the lb7 imo
