I don't know about everyone else but I hate not getting traction. Its cool that I have torque to break them loose anytime but, I would like to get some power to the ground and momentum going. I went from a 285/75 to a 285/50 I can tell a big difference. It seems impossible to keep traction. I would hate for it to rain.

What have you guys done to keep traction? I need some ideas!!

I'm really bad about killing tires weather it be the front end being out of whack or pulling out into traffic with a little to much throttle. I've never had a set of tires for more than 15k. Now I'm trying harder to leave it on the baby tune.:spit:

It almost makes me sad lol. I just got these tires and I will be lucky they last 15k. It's not the front end I'm worried about.

I put spring clamps on the front of the overloads. Same wheel/tire combo, seems to hook better. Rides like a log wagon over speed bumps though.

What do you mean spring clamps? Only thing I found were to keep the leafs in line.
Learn to drive with a light foot. What I don't know if how the guys with big singles do it.
The light foot isn't a problem but when I do want to go I WANT TO GO!
Maybe go wider tire? You running 420s?
I'm already running a 12" 420.
I just put it in 4wd
4wd is good but pulls to the left extremely bad. I guess I could get a locker to keep it straight.

I thought that at first but was thinking if it's not posey it may pull. Idk maybe my thinking is wrong but it pulls very bad to the left. I put a new caliper on the drivers side today. It was sticking causing the truck to pull. I haven't tried 4wd today. What would cause it to pull to the left that bad?

You need to work on your front end if you pull left. Mine pulls straight
I have noticed a pretty loud clunk going in and out of 4wd. I don't like using it very often due to the pull and the noise. Sometimes it doesn't do it but most of the time it does. All the bushings, joints, tierods,idler/pit arms, stabilizer, and links were replaced about 2-3,000 miles ago.

Check your bumpstop on the left side
No bumpstops up front. How would a bumpstops cause it to pull!?! Its lowered 2 inch drop keys. It pulled before when it was lifted also. In fact I don't remember it not pulling. It has gotten worse it seems but always did.

I just remember when I worked in an alignment shop, we had a truck come in with a pull to the left problem. Stock height, stock wheels and prolly 285s, i had everything the green, ran it through prolly 3 times. It ended up being the bump stop was soft/ worn out and it was causeing the truck to pull. New bumpstop and it drove straight as an arrow.

The bump stop I am refering to is on the LCA.

Scratch that, I missed the part about not having bumpstops

You could always go old school and just go to a bigger tire. I run 315/70R17s, and they hook really well on the street. I also have a lot of weight on the rear end, which helps. You could always pretend it is winter and throw sand bags in the bed.

Bigger tires are not much of an option on my lowered truck. I tried 305/50s and had to take them back. They rubbed tremendously. But of coarse my offset has a lot to do with that. I could add some weight to the back didn't think of that.

On your pulling to the left problem: I would check your pitman and idler arm as well as the idler support. Mine were bent and it would pull to the left everytime. Replaced all three, and now it's good to go. Pulls perfectly straight.

You don't want a locker in the front for racing around. You've got issues in the front end if it is pulling that bad. I can put it in 4x4, on my 1200hp tune, hands off the wheel and floor it. It will stay straight as an arrow.
