I cant choose....what would you run for dragracing? would you run caltracs which seem to work pretty good or would you run a traction bar? and if a traction bar what length? what ever one i run im going to take out the overload spring from the rear and im already running 3" drop shackles.

For drag racing , the traction bar would have to be a shorty style bar ,the sled puller type bars arent going to do much but stop axle wrap . I would say caltrac for its simplicity and beings its bolt on , but a home made "shorty bar " would do the trick also , your traction bar would need to be around 24-28" and of a decent upward angle . If you need help designing something let me know I could give you a hand when i get back from AZ , My 4link software helps a bunch on making sure the design actually helpstraction and not just stop wraplike some bars do .

Caltracs are the only way to go if you remove leafs. I just put them on my truck and they are great

drag racing, cal tracs are the way to go, but doin both drag and pulling, id say a set of ladder bars are better then traction bars

Wherever I am working
OK....

So help out with this...even though part of the question is answered.

Can someone help out with the physics part of the question? For example, is the purpose of the longer traction bars (sled pull type) supposed to help with weight transfer?

For racing id go cal trac, simple to install works great, especially with a leaf or 2 removed. MY wifes truck has 75" bars on it, they stop axle wrap and thats all, if i can ever get the truck to launch hard i think they will become an issue!

By the time I got my best 60ft my bottle was getting low so I didn't run any faster. I might go out today and see if I can get into 11.7's

i went with the caltracs. I got them on with no problems. Hoping to make it to that track soon and i will report back on how it goes. I had to pull the truck back apart and replace a few injectors.
