I shouldnt i blead it 3 times,The radiator never gave a problem with other engine,Temp did climb a bit under some hills.I am thinking a bad cat or air myself it has a new w/pump,T-stas (GM) and new coolant IDK what the heck it is though i dont want to get her hot and i need to get this figured out any ideas guys i am baffled:(

This maybe a stupid question but, when you bled the system did you have the heater on full and at an incline with the bleed point being the highest point of the cooling system?
I'll drive it up on a few blocks or something at times just to get the radiator or the hose I'm going to bleed from to get it to the highest point...

How long did the truck sit before the motor went in? Could there be alot of built up dust and dirt in the radiator?

I hope the incline works, because If I'm waisting my time doing that there's going to be alot of guy on this board that'll laugh at me

It will go to 260 if i let it going up 3 hills on way to track I am F-n baffled and stressed  I am drawing a blank here

I did have the heat on and it blows hot most of the time and once it didnt so i blead it again and changed new t-stats with gm just incase now i got heat all the time now and runs 210 til i get going up hill and it starts to climb I am thinking cat or plugged muffler ????

if you have a EGT gage you should see it if a exhaust restriction is causing the overheat . the EGT's will be high

This might sound dumb but are you sure your thermostats are opening? Once your gauge reads 210 does your temp then drop? or does it continually rise from the beginning?

x2 on the thermostat. i have had several new "duds" i would pull it and put in another, cheap and relatively easy to check instead of pulling radiator or possibly tearing into the block.

I had the ecm reflashed from Gm friday and changed to my old sensor, have had noproblems. thursday is the last day i towed and this thursday i will tow again loaded I towed sunday empty trailer 7500lbs no problem stayed under 210 by a needle width,It hasnt got hot at all and i ran it hard in and out of tow haul.My thought is that the Tune that was in it might not have been stock and had alot of timing or fuel etc which will cause it to run hot when towing so until i tow loaded i guess i wont know the total weight towing is about 12000 lbs.My worst fear is i have limped tranny twice and maybe towing the converter is slipping and makes the motor run hot by doing so and going up the hills it heats up I do notice it down shifts and makes alot of noise when hitting the hills Fan,motor, etc If i have a problem gonna tow with a friends and see what his sounds like and feels, Does anyone feel the scenario i just stated is a possibility??

Well towed again yesterday and it ran 240 when i hit some hills it heats up when on pedal hard and climbing hills i guess i am gonna try a radiator and delete the kitty I am out of ideas.I put my heat gun on the T-stat and its about 200 deg there when i pull over but about 238 on the upper rad pipe coming out of t-stat housing the hose is about 218 but it cools down really quick when i pullover gauge drops to normal any help u guys can give would be appreciated thanks

yup both new GM and checked them too I am thinking the clutch fan is not spinning fast enough I mean when i pull over to get a temp reading with infra red heat gun it cools right down before i can stop fully so maybe its spinning but not fast enough if it was a radiator it wouldnt cool it down right away Right?? lol

I would have to agree , it does make sence that the fan clutch could be the culprite .
