I about 50/50 on this right now so I'm asking for your opinions. My wife wrecked my truck and it is getting a new frame so I'm thinking about not putting the lift back on. I have a second truck that is stock that I could use it on or sell the lift, wheels and tires. What's everyones opinion?

If I had kids I would sell it and get something else. As I don't have kids and think it looks 10x better with I would put it back on.

Personally I love the look of a lifted truck and always wanted one. That said, I would sell it and use the money elsewhere. Really personal preference though. Good luck with decision...sorry to hear about the accident though!

I can't say a lifted truck looks worse at all. I will want the right combination fir the best profile.

I told you not to lift IT back. It will be a hole lot faster without it . The truck looks good either way. I'll take speed over height any day you have got a lot of money in the motor us it . Piss on the lift!!!

If your not going to be racing it who cares if you can run the 1/4 mile in under 12sec? My truck looks good and I can still smoke just about everybody that pulls up next to me without 10k worth of motor work. Not to mention once you start putting all that extra stuff on your motor the reliability drops significantly.

I say level it keep the angles good then get some more go fast stuff
I think 37s or 40s are a killer for these motors once you start putting big power on them although I like the way they look lifted

So you think a set of 37" tires is going to wear out a motor that is meant to tow over 12,000 lbs? I could see it wearing out certain things, but I don't see the motor as one of them. JMO

Just when you put BIG power to a motor 37s just add more stress and your not wfo with 12000 lbs behind you

Honestly it depends on your use. I love a lifted truck, but I like lowered/stock trucks as well. To me it depends on the use. You would have a awesome setup to race if you lost the lift. That's what I would do in your case IMO. Me, I want to race, but I also want reliability as well.

If you're really that worried about loosing power then re-gear. Takes the majority of stress off the drivetrain. Only added difference is the unsprung weight. Lifted trucks are a tad bit slower than a stock height truck, but that still doesn't mean they're slow. I had a raced a guy on with 40s with twins on his dodge and he completely ate me. Granted he's is a 12second truck, but he's also regeared.

Re-gearing wont change much in the 1/4. You might drop .2 (ok its alot to some lol) and the biggest thing the bigger tires will do on stock gears is load the motor/turbo(s) more. I wouldnt lower my truck for anything and with only 550hp and 7600lbs i managed to bend a rod and run a 13 flat. It will 12s when the motor is done. How many can say their cc/lb on 37s can run that fast :D
