Damn man...thats a whole lot of FTMFL

Sorry to see all that goin on...the "tree" the previous owner worked under cast some serious "shade"

And hey, arent the lower shock mounts bolted on?
WTF weld them?
They are bolted. It looks like at some point this truck was lifted in front and instead of getting new shocks the mounts were made longer.

No one to blame for this stuff but myself, buyer beware I guess. I am just fortunate that I have the necessary knowledge and/or income to get it all the way it should be.

Hell of a guy op. I'm the same way, buy a used truck be prepared to fix and change things. Just a good mind set to have so tempers aren't overloaded on either end.

Best of luck on the fixes and from what I've seen the trucks in excellent hands.:thumb:

Trans should be done soon. I have to say that Evan is a hell of a guy. He called last night at 1015 to check with me on a couple items. First was a stripped valve body bolt, he wanted to make sure I was cool with him putting a non g solenoid valve body in the trans and just leaving the solenoid tied off in the pan. Didn't want me to freak out when I drop the pan some day and find this sitting there. Then had a big talk about a pan bolt that was missing. Turned out the bolt was stripped and just left out. No big deal, it didn't leak, he just doesn't want to let anything be a surprise.

Getting closer.

I only understand about 10% of the things said here, just wanted to say its awesome to see you having a positive attitude about it with all this BS going on. I would not be reacting quite so well. Best of luck getting that thing ripping

Evan can make a really bad day into a great time. Finding that competent person that you can trust in the wake of taking a bad beating is priceless. Not all mechanics are sleezeballs, although the horror stories keeping multiplying every week it seems. There's several shops represented on this forum that have been screwed over and over again, and kept a positive attitude, passed it on to the customer, and that's why they are still in business today.

Way to be a stand up guy Phil. You're taking this way better than anyone should. Big thumbs up to you.

You'll enjoy it that much more when you finish now!

Sigh, still racking up those dollars.
Found my drive pressure leak.

The plan was for evan to swap the up pipes with stock one that I supplied but when he pulled off the stock one he found out the manifold will never seal. Apparently a couple up pipe bolts were broken off and then drilled out of the manifold. Very off center. To the point that getting a gasket to seal will be almost impossible. Soooo, evan is hooking me up with a set of ppe manifolds and up pipes.

Why a good set of stock manifolds and up pipes weren't installed during the motor build I have no idea. You can get them for shipping cost usually. Just more money I hadn't planned on right now.

Now this I knew about, but was told he broke it during the engine r and r. Serious race trucks don't need to check the oil. Gonna install a flexible dipstick.
