i know i posted on duramax forums but if you used a ssd to put the operating system and a few other key programs on there it should almost start up as quickly as a normal radio i would think. then have the other hardrive to store music efi live files, navigation files and everything extra

I got my head harness for my Go Pro...I'll make a video of it in operation when I get it all together. lol

Its basically a PC that has a program that incorporates all the features of an AVIC style dvd nav unit. But has the ability for just about anything a PC can do. So tuning without having to have a laptop in your hands. You mount your V2 and just open EFI on your screen.

I got a SSD to see if its that much faster than the 7200 rpm HD i got too.

I'm building 2 variation, one in dash with a 7" touchscreen and one remote mount with a massive 10.2" screen. Both systems will have a usb powered Bluray player so he can mount it for access.

Parts should start showing up anytime. The 10.2" system might take a bit as the power supply is on backorder.

My system runs an Intel I3 processor with 8 gigs of ram, the other is an 775 socket processor with 4 gigs. Both have hi def audio and HDMI vid onboard. So plugging into in subs and multiple monitors will be no issue.

One Motherboard has onboard Wifi, mine will have a usb adapter for it.

More than enough processing power to render blu ray movies.

I'll be sure to take some good pics of it-I'm moving my HVAC to the overhead to make room for it so it might take me a little time to get it all done

Here are some screenshots of what the "radio" will look like.

I don't have one of have a pic of a rearview camera yet.

The cool thing about this app, is if you have one of the new Go Pro Hero 2 cameras, you will be able to wirelessly stream it inside the cab:thumb:, once they come out with the BacPac for it.:woott:

Do you have any pictures of this system installed in a D-max? Do the steering wheel controls work with this and what about the rear seat entertainment sound? Not that these are real big deal......

I was thinking about doing a setup like this. I was looking at the Kenwood 9980HD or Avic Z130BT prior to the PC idea.

Could you provide an update on this? I can't seem to get the pictures from page 1 to load, either.

So.....finally got around to starting this...

Ran into one small issue with the power supply being an older 20 pin and the Mobo being 24 pin ATX... Simple fix....

Had to order the adapter and a low profile heatsink....an I7 one will def not fit lol.

Here is a sample of what it looks like inside. Its more assembled than this now obviously.
