I've done some homeade stuff before, but I wouldn't try that. At least my homeade stuff was engineered so I knew it would work.
The last picture from the front of the Rustang shows a lot.... look at the sag in the wood "rails". An accident waiting to happen.
I had to lift a truck off a guy once that was underneath the rear end with the axle supported by a couple of bottle jacks. He was fortunate we were out surveying in his neighborhood and that he wasn't under the axle. He wound up with a split finger and compressed heart, instead of "squashed like grape".
The bad thing is, how many other Rustang owners will duplicate this after seeing it on the forum??
