Do you run with the rear doors on? Is there any sort of insulation in the box part of the van walls?

Ac compressor worth 30lbs or so. Use Dorman AC delete bracket 34158?

Id install a fresh CP3 to help try to maximize rail pressure.

Already have 3" I/C piping?

Send the turbo to yellowchevy for one of his port-n-polish jobs? 20hp is 20hp...

Nitrous a given.

What has been removed already? Some springs in the pack for the rear? Possibly the overloads?

Take off the bumpers.
Edit: looks like the bumpers are already off.

Take out 2 quarts of engine oil, 1 quart of transmission, 1 quart out of the transfer case, 2 out of each differential, a gallon of coolant, and all of the windshield washer fluid.

I'm serious on the windshield washer fluid. :)

Didn't Steve Cole used to spout off about one of the trucks he tuned running 10s with stock turbo and a boat load of nitrous waaay back in the day? Buck maybe? With the fiberglass bedsides? I have no idea how built it was but seems silly to build an engine just to put the stocker back on?

yep it was Buck, you do have to remember that was back in 06 so there wasnt much for aftermarket internal parts available

The van is pretty gutted, but I'm sure Josh will find a few lbs with a sawsall and some spare time!

Seems like every time he takes it out it gets a little faster! :thumb:

Put a little go kart steering wheel on it and drill holes in the frame like the old super stockers lol. Good luck Josh. I know If I had my LBZ still, it would be running deep in the 12s with a built trans and your bad ass tuning.

Several years ago I watched Trent do an 11.04 at Rocky Mt. Raceway. At that time the truck was still a daily driver. Weight was 5900lbs. I don't know how he got it that light, or remember which turbos / injectors it had. But the engine was stock LB7 internally. And the rods were bent after that run.

Yes I remember that, it was going to be a race with some other guy but I don't remember who. He had the entire inside of the truck gutted including all the interior and speakers radio etc. Think it was the first race that NADM did in Salt Lake.

Can of ether?

Funny you should say that, last winter an old childhood friend called me to ask some questions for his grandson who was in the Army in Kansas and was having trouble starting his Dmax. My friend said he finally got it started with a little bit of ether but it was running very rough. I asked him how much and he said they just held the can open till it fired and made a huge bang. :D He wanted to know if I could guess what the problem was and how to fix it. I told him he probably blew the engine and better look for a new one. That's exactly what he ended up doing as the old motor was trashed. :(
