Josh you suddenly hate the motor in your van? I hope you make it, probably need a perfectly prepared track, and hopefully a tail wind. I really doubt if it will hold together for more than a couple of passes. That van was pretty much a shell when I saw it last year, where will you find 200 lbs? BTW congratulations on making a good showing at the world finals this year. :thumb: Where was the red Dmax of your bosses with my old drag radials and rims? Or did I miss it?

I don't hate my motor. If I can get the weight down, I should need somewhere around 650 hp to run a 10.99. How much power do you think Rob's LBZ was putting down running 11.7s and Russ's running 11.8s? They both survived very well at that power level. I've got a few ideas on where to pull weight. I might not make it down to 5300, but I'll get as close as I can. I'll make a parts pile and weight it all when it's done. Plasma cutters and Sawzalls are pretty awesome. :D Jim just got his motor back a couple of weeks ago, and he is still waiting on injectors.

With a sawzall and a plasms cutter i say you can find 200lbs of scrap. Cut the whole floor out of the van

I have a feeling you'll pull this off!!!

Didn't Steve Cole used to spout off about one of the trucks he tuned running 10s with stock turbo and a boat load of nitrous waaay back in the day? Buck maybe? With the fiberglass bedsides? I have no idea how built it was but seems silly to build an engine just to put the stocker back on?

Yes, stock turbo, but I don't think they were running stock fueling.

Sawzalls, I forget you don't care much for looks or returning back to original just a look at the exterior should be a reminder! :D

You could make it a rag top!

I take it that the transmission is finally healthy and up to the task?!

You think the ol' dumpster might need some inspection windows (lexan is lighter than sheet steel) on the sides and in the rear doors?

Does it still have the HVAC components? Do you use them? If not... ba-bye! LOL

So no twins, no big single, no dual CP3s, no larger injectors?? Totally stock engine?
Roughly 5500lbs unless you start making the van look like a piece of swiss cheese??
This isnt going to be easy, but will be fun to try. :thumb:

Mitch, the trans seems to be working very well now. I hope I finally got all the bugs out of it. I removed the HVAC system from it a long time ago. The A/C compressor is still on the motor, but it will probably be going soon as well.

Correct, Tom. My only non-stock power adder will be nitrous, but I really hope to find a couple of hundred pounds somewhere.
