Heck, I got called alot worse than a weasel by Nick and Chad, and they didn't give themselves any punishments.

See, once you become an Internet God, you are above criticism at many websites. Diesel Place went that route starting about 2005. Or about a year and a half after it started.

But here, you can feel free to call me an ahole.

I started this site simply because I'm a gearhead, and like to discuss things with other gearheads. Not because I want more money, or want free parts. And certainly not because I have a burning desire to boss over folk.

The Dodge ads are a slap in the face to those who spent hundreds of hours helping other Dmax owners free of charge. If that doesn't make Nick and Chad weasels, I can't imagine what would. I considered Nick and Chad my friends until they stabbed me in the back. Multiple times. The Dodge ads are bigger than the sponsor ads of those who helped start that board. Just stabbing a few more pals I suppose.

For those who don't know, TDP now has large Dodge ads on their board and Google Ads that are bigger than the "old sponsor" banners. It slows down the load time, and is just plain tacky on an enthusiast board. Next, tampon and Viagra ads.

It's just news in the Duramax enthusiast community. Much like we published a list of all other diesel sites, members are free here to discuss this board's operation or other boards operations without fear of repercussion. At least not from here.

But everyone should be aware that TDP staff does read this board, and has "punished" folk who say things they don't like on here. That's a very bad precident, but they aren't the only ones. If you value your membership on TDP, you should not speak out publically here assuming it's "safe".

Time for enthusiasts to take back over the enthusiast boards.

I'm gonna be honest, I get tired of seeing these TDP bash threads every few days. Gets old. We all pretty much know where TDP stands on things and where many of you all stand on your view of TDP so it gets old seeing the same type of threads bashing them every few days or weeks.

That's my opinion. Now, I realize you all could also tell me to go pound dirt and that you can bitch about whomever or whatever, whenever you feel like it and you are absolutely right. Just letting it be known that at least one, and most likely several others, get tired of coming on here to see those same types of threads. That's all.

By in large, this site is much more... how should I say it.... Better! in pretty much every way. It doesn't quite have all the technical stuff yet but if it's not here yet, the members that are here can surely answer it if it's asked. THANKS for providing that! I, for one, truly do appreciate it!

No, you have a very good point, and I wobble back and forth between the three sides of the issue:

1) Trashing others never looks good. Taking the higher ground is more professional.

2) News concerning diesel websites is still "news", even "bad news". Some folk are interested in the behind-the-scenes activities that occur, which might help them understand what they are reading. Many boards are chocked full of innuendo that is puzzling to the casual reader, and it cannot be discussed openly.

3) Who gives a flying duck? I'm on the internet to help go faster and make my truck run better, the politics are boring.

I really think #1 is the right road, but I worry that killing all threads discussing other forums makes us look like we are hiding something.

For now, it will be taken on a thread by thread basis. But maybe a poll might be a good idea.
