Track is open here year round just has to be warm enough. But I told the wife I was done pulling and racing anyways. I will try to get her on the rolls to see what she has

Then why build it is more of what I'm getting at. And did you actually hurt your motor Nick? Or just chose it was time?

I didn't hurt it, i have some pretty bad leaks and im taking time off of work to finish everything... get it all cleaned up and drive it for a little while longer. I have a few Tahoe trips planned one for new years and then one in January and before i ship it off to Utah i wanna drive it, i completely forget how it drives

doing a build so I can do whatever I want to it (to a point at least) and not have to worry. Power will be no higher then 750 and in a DD I think that is more then enough. Should be the badest dmax now out in Hawaii.

That's why I have a stock motor now. It sucks to have a nice truck that you can't drive.

At first the idea of blasting 12.50... 11.50... 10.50 ET's is awesome but some times it gets a little discouraging. For me and this is just my personal opinion I feel uncomfortable putting a very expensive engine back together with stock pistons. Josh you didn't get many passes on your engine and you cracked one i personally would cry like a baby. I will be going with a forged piston on my build no doubt maybe Mahle will come out with a monotherm for the Duramax as it already has so for the Cummins and they have even redesigned them to make them lighter

I put about 6,000 miles and made about to 30 passes (close to a 50/50 split between 1/8 and 1/4 mile). I wish I had put forged pistons in it, but that would have kept me from driving it. I have decided that when I'm able to, I would be better off if I build a dedicated race truck that doesn't get driven on the street.

I think ultimately josh has the answer....a dedicated race vehicle is the only way to do it, unfortunately even for me right now as this will be my dd for a time, but someday.....
