Need to fire up the mill again. Got looking at how i wanted to route the outlet of the gate to the downpipe..if i weld the pipe solid to the downpipe, I won't be able to get the downpipe in and out. So I need to make a flange I can unbolt from the downpipe.

Have you got any other pics of it or explain what you used? I am going to build a transport stand but I would like to have a mount like that I can use on my engine stand to rotate it around.

She isn't super pretty but it is strong as hell. Its an early style 5 speed allison input shaft that i had no use for. Cut the big end on a 45° angle and welded it to a plate. Also put a sleeve over the shaft for added strength. It held my fully dressed engine without even a flex.

The engine stand side of the mount is an old motor support bushing for the trains I work on at work. They seem to fit perfectly into engine stands:D

I had the main caps dowel pinned to the block and a girdle with arp studs. It was personal prefenence. Between the 3, those mains shouldn't be moving.

I was told that the block flexs which is the main cause for cap walk? Line hone the main bore with studs and call it a day for trucks around 1000hp. Anybody have any more info on this?

What railroad do you work for? Have a friend that moved out there that works at Progress Rail. Nice build by the way.

Thanks! I dropped my spare block into the frame and tested to makes sure I'd be able to get the downpipe in and out. As long as the turbo is out, I think I'll be ok. I'll have to slide it in from the top.

How do you like the spacer under your turbo? Has it always had it or just added it for waste gate? I'm thinking I'll have to put one on my next set up as the pedal stool I have looks super short for the 366

3/8" or 1/2" plate? Thanks for the pics.
How much room do you have between the turbo and firewall with that spacer?

Yea. I think most kits use a 7" unless otherwise specified. I've got a turbinetics in my EPR kit. I think it could stand to be about 1.5" taller. I think mine a like 5.25 or 5.5 so that ppe is super short.

Sorry mike for the slight detour. That fab work is nice.

Yea I think 7" is the norm. I'm gonna set it in there and see how it looks then decide on spacer or pedal stool.
