Are the cylinders on dmax numbered the same as SBC/BBC? Driver side front to back 1357 pass side 2468? I remember sbf was pass side front to back 1234 driver side 5678 and firing order 13726548 for 302ho/351w and 15426378 for standard 302.

#1 on a dmax is on the PS

The crank came out in one piece, thank goodness I caught it and had it towed home. The crosshatching is still visible from the align hone on the mains. #2 main bearing and journal was the worst, more pics to follow, but I am pretty certain the block can be reused with no issue. not sure if it is because the increasingly violent harmonics or what, but the nuts for the #2 main cap studs and one of the nuts for the front main cap were a little looser than the others. the rear 3 main bearings weren't even black or worn to copper, just the front 2. The pistons had some weird galling in some spots, not sure if its normal or if it truly did get hot my last two runs at Bandimere. the last 1/4 mile pass was defueled really bad and all nitrous, and the trailer tow pass was extremely violent, but that's pretty much what I expected when I had Dmitiri spool me on the line and I held the button in until the end.

Thanks Evan and Justin for coming up today and helping me out, what a day. :woott:

Edit: For those who have had to separate the converter from the flywheel or flexplate by driving screwdrivers in between, because of how tight the clearance is on the converter knub and some corrosion....you know how much fun it was to pull this motor. We had it ready to come out in 2hrs, went and bought some lunch, came back and spent the next couple hours screwing with it. tried everything possible, short of dropping the trans, and finally just started using the screwdrivers....never seen anything like it.

more firing orders to consider. i really think that aside from the cranks being "undersized" for the amount of power we are putting to them, harmonics play a large role in breaking these things also they break under stock power settings which also tells me that its gotta be a casting or harmonics problem

So for those of us that might do this in the future, you are saying a light coat of anti-sieze on the converter snub upon install would be a good thing?

He has a ATS flywheel. I think it was the converter that caused the issue. By the way your truck was fun to watch saturday Sledhead.

Thanks man. It was definetly fun to drive. I almost thought I was going to blow through the mafia blocks at the end of the track both times
