The crank came out in one piece, thank goodness I caught it and had it towed home. The crosshatching is still visible from the align hone on the mains. #2 main bearing and journal was the worst, more pics to follow, but I am pretty certain the block can be reused with no issue. not sure if it is because the increasingly violent harmonics or what, but the nuts for the #2 main cap studs and one of the nuts for the front main cap were a little looser than the others. the rear 3 main bearings weren't even black or worn to copper, just the front 2. The pistons had some weird galling in some spots, not sure if its normal or if it truly did get hot my last two runs at Bandimere. the last 1/4 mile pass was defueled really bad and all nitrous, and the trailer tow pass was extremely violent, but that's pretty much what I expected when I had Dmitiri spool me on the line and I held the button in until the end.
Thanks Evan and Justin for coming up today and helping me out, what a day. :woott:
Edit: For those who have had to separate the converter from the flywheel or flexplate by driving screwdrivers in between, because of how tight the clearance is on the converter knub and some corrosion....you know how much fun it was to pull this motor. We had it ready to come out in 2hrs, went and bought some lunch, came back and spent the next couple hours screwing with it. tried everything possible, short of dropping the trans, and finally just started using the screwdrivers....never seen anything like it.
