Looks good Josh, what class are you planning on running, looks like it would be a good candidate for superstreet? What do you think it will weigh? And paticular reason for the fuel cell to be mounted so far forward? Would think you would want it back as far as possible for the weight? What's the plans for suspension? Good luck, did you get anything qualified for the world finals in Ennis in Oct so we can see this bad boy run?:thumb:

It is going to be run in Super Street. We're hoping it will be close to 6000 lbs. The fuel cell could only be moved back another 18" or so because of the batteries and nitrous bottles and there was alredy a hole for the lines to run through that was left by the old goose neck hitch. I'm sure it would be better if it was all the way at the back, but given what we had to work with, I don't think it will hurt us too bad. Suspension wise, it has double adjustable coil overs up front and the back has stock leafs with the overloads removed and Rancho 9000 shocks and CalTracs. He also has Rob's old drag radials and wheels. Jim is qualified for Super Street, and he plans to have it out there racing in October.

It's just a loop, not a u-joint shield, but I think it's just a universal kit that was modified to bolt the the crossmember under the front differential.

It is a carbon fiber driveshaft from a company called Precision Shaft Technologies.

It keeps parts from flying up through the floor if the transmission explodes. It is an NHRA safety requirement. I'll have to look at the rule book again to see when you have to add it.

edit: A blanket is required by NHRA safety rules if you run 10.99 or faster or 135 MPH.

All vehicles running quicker than 10.99 seconds (*6.99) or faster than 135 mph (except some Stock and Super Stock classes as noted under Class Requirements) and using an automatic transmission must be equipped with a transmission shield meeting SFI Spec 4.1 and labeled accordingly. (“Blanket”-type shield, appropriately labeled as meeting SFI Spec 4.1, permitted.)

Well, the truck is pretty much finished up. We loaded it up this morning and took it to the chassis shop for the roll cage. Hopefully we'll have it back in a couple of weeks and can start making some passes.
