I was scouting elk this weekend 200 miles from home when a friend of mine seen that my rear axle was coated in oil. Check and found leaking for transfer case... thought was the seal between the two half's. I was able to fill the case before making the trip home, it took 3/4 qt.
When I got back to the internet connected world i was able to figure out this was a case rub problem. i located the small hole in the 263xhd case.
i am going to put the Merchant Auto case pump upgrade in.
A new half case is $200+ any where i can find them.
I have a commercial welder friend who can and does weld magnesium.
down side or opinion on replacing half case vs having welded?
Anything else i should do while i have case off of truck and open?
