Trent I'm pretty happy with the top end. The gear selection will take some test runs to see if it has the power to pull 4th. I haven't tried it yet. Coming out of the hole better is what I would like to improve upon. With the converter that's in there it will drive through the brakes at 1000rpm in 1st low.

I would go to a 2nd or 3rd gear start. But I would be very scared to let that truck go to 4th gear on a stock bottom end. IMHO you may get only a couple hooks on a good track in 4th if it pulls the rpms down to the low 3,000's. For a stock bottom end you want to keep that puppy reved up in 3rd and go to a bigger tire.

I also flushed the fluid in my brakes, and replaced the rubber lines with braided stainless, that seemed to help a lot on holding back too.

Truck has new calipers pads rotors and lines. I'll have to check the hoses and make sure they're not soft and expanding under pressure.

Not to side track, but how the heck to you make the truck start in 2nd or 3rd gear? I am assuming this would allow one to run a tighter converter for the street and the start in a higher gear to simulate a looser converter?
