Sorry for the newby Duramax forum type question, but I am probably moving up to 5" exhaust. Had my eye on AFE but want to see how it exits out the back. I don't like the full 90° look that points perpendicular to the truck body, some of the others point too much straight back out of the bumper area. I want an in between and can't seem to find the one I want. I like how my banks exit now. Try to find a pic for comparison. Please post a pic and what brand if you have the style I am wanting. 5" only please.

Yeah I think the flopro and DE have it pointing to straight back for my liking. I was going to go with Magnaflow but it has the 90° exit that I am that fond of.

I'll crawl under my truck in just a few. I really like the afe kit. Good clamps and it fit good.

This is a 5" stainless Magnaflow... Not sure if it's the style you want or not? It fits fine, hangers blow goats and all have been re-welded, stainless is cheap as well, rusted up pretty good. I have heard very good things about the Flopro stuff.

That isn't too bad on the exit. Most other pics I found were looking like it pointed straight out like perpendicular to the tire if that makes sense.

I really don't care for the MBRP hangers and couldn't find anything about how far forward the 5" actually starts.

Most exhaust kits go 5" after the torsion crossmember

Ya, I get what your saying. I don't like the 90* exits either, the magna is kinda between the musket exit and the 90* ones... Just be aware the spring hangers will rip out of the pipe after awhile. The AFE one might be the ticket. Id like to see the pipe hangers on it.

So apparently it's hard to take exhaust pics when you have a lowered truck

Is the stainless cheap enough that a regular mild steel mig welder setup could weld supports on it you think?

Got ya some crappy pics Kyle.

Here's the exit. It was pretty close to 90 when I had no tip. But I fudged it a little with the tip and other adjustments because I'm like you and wasn't a fan of the 90* or the bumper exit.

I put a 4" AFE system on the other day it was really nice and fit great. Hangers looked like OEM stuff really. Same way with my Banks stuff. Fit great, OEM looking hanger setup, and haven't had a bit of trouble for 5 years out of it. Kind of the experience I would like to have with 5" setup lol
