I have never been able to figure out you guy's obsession with gayness. Its all very, very strange.

Bri, have you ever taken the trans apart to see if something internal is at fault? I know Steve knows his stuff, but is there anything about the tuning that could be out-of-sync?

The only time the trans was apart was when the P/O had the engine rebuilt, and the shop forgot to install the trans dowells, which then took out the pump and converter, Mike replaced the bellhousing, pump and converter, said the clutches looked great at the time. This was maybe 15k miles ago. But since then, no, I havent done anything other than drop the pan and inspect for clutch material, which there is none that I can see.

And as far as tuning, we have had so many tunes through the ecm and tcm that I don't think it's a tuning issue, but I have been wrong, and I would surely hope that its a tuning issue, but weekend after weekend going over logs and driving down to Steve to work on it, hasnt really had any steps forward. James and I might swap TCM's to see if it's an issue with that, but who knows untill then.

What operating system do you use for your base tune? I seem to remember that some of them have little quirks that screw with some TCM o/s. Might be something as simple as that. Keep in mind I am an EFI-retard, so I may just be shooting the moon with that idea....

Id have to read my TCM tune to find the o/s again, but my 9044 o/s works very well with the 01 TCM tune I run.

Brian... have you guys tried a non-modded tcm Tune along with the ecm tune having stock torque tables? I know Steve is on his game...but just asking...

Drop it off at muh house! Yeah kory we tried the stock tables right away and at part throttle its great, but at wot it defuels like it should but doesn't make the shift, as rpm continues to rise to something like 4400 when the hard limit is even set to 3900. At this point im trying to work around whatever the problem is. I loaded a tcm/ecm combo from a truck that runs perfectly on the tune and it still hangs on the shift when the other truck clicks them off every time. I tried the tbiq/basetq/tliq right out of my truck that also shifts well and it did the same hang.

It's just strange to me that it hangs this same way on all these different tunes, I need to spend a day logging the TCM to figure out what issue it "thinks" it's having.

Brian, I'm doing a couple cummins on Thursday, so if you're free from then through the weekend then bring her on down so I can get some seat tiiiiime with the ol log-o-matic.

Guess the 50th time is a charm... :happy2: ;)

Kory, tried what you said... stock defuel in ecm and tcm, bumped up a hair in the higher rpm's, and what do you know... :woott: Trans still learning, but did a few 0-70 wot runs on my detuned race tune (2500 pulse on 20% overs), shifting closer and closer to stock tcm shift points. Also did a few 30-100ish runs on a freeway onramp, and shifted better than it ever has. Might have to keep playing with the defuel in the +3000rpm cells, but for now, it works. Dont like 3800rpm's, but better than the 4200 it was trying to shift at, Id like to keep it at 34-3500, but as of now, it's working a lot better.

So far... so good. Gunna let it learn all summer driving it granny style while I move, and head back to the 1/4 in January when it's 40* outside.

:roflmao:

We shall see. Come January, will be a different story, I hope  Just glad we may be onto somthing. I dont get it though, Steve and I went through this last summer, but at that time, my old boss messed with the defuel and TBIQ to get it to shift better, and that, I tihnk was the start of my problems.

Thanks Andrew ;)
