I've done lots of searching and talked to a couple people and still dont know which turbo is right for me. I plan to have Dustin at DA do the install for me and I've worried him enough already with questions. I have considered everything from an S366 to an S475. I'm really leaning towards an S400 of some kind but really dont know which one I really need. I dont want an S475 if a S466 will give me all the power I can get with the stock fuel system. I think theres also something around the middle, an S472 or something. I know the S475 will flow the most but will it give me any more HP since I'm limited with the stock fuel system?

Whats your power goal ? any of the 3 will work with stock fuel , but the power out put will vary with size .

I dont mind sacrificing a little spool time but I dont want to get a big, laggy turbo if its only going to be a little better. If a 466 will give me 575 HP and a 475 will produce 585 I'll go with the 466. If there's allot more to gain with the 475 I'll strongly consider it. As far as my power goal goes, I really dont have a number in mind, I'm just ready for more. I guess part of what I'm asking is at what point have you gone too big with the stock fuel and start loosing power.

I would guess the 466 will get you 590- low 600's maybe more , with everything dialed of course , and the S475 would get you close to 650-680 with every dialed to the nuts . just educated guess's and if you had injectors those could raise , Matt Larsen trapped 117 mph with a single cp3 , 45% overs and a gt4202 .

Have you seen anyone actually go too large on the turbo with the stock fuel system and lose power?

No , you would never loose power , but might not be able to light it , it would be much bigger than a S475 though . I personally would choose the S464 , I like a responsive fun to drive truck and it would still give you enough power to bend a rod if you pushed it .

Gated pedestal is a waste on a single unless you running huge fuel or spray .

i wouldnt say that Trent, what if he wants to twin it down the road. its kinda like having the S400 frame makes it so you replace that much less of your set up if you ever change things up a little. plus a waste gated pedistal is only like $50 more from Rick i want to say.

ya but then you have to weld the port shut in the mean time , it is just a stubbed pipe on ricks waste gated peds that the builder adds on to, and with the twin kits i will offer as a add on to the single kits there would be a "exchange" with the old ped for one i or Rick have added the gate feature too , kinda like a "core" sort of deal is the best way i could think of .

How about a small twins set up with the stock charger. My brother's truck way back when was a blast to drive with a single pump and HX60. Spool up isn't an issue, egts are kept in check and you have the perfect platform to go bigger from if needed.
