"stock appearing" at fair pulls

So here is my problem, not really a problem but something i have been thinking about. Probably order a charger here in the next few weeks and still back and forth between a Cheetah or a 4094.

My question is, how many of you guys have been checked when running a stock appearing charger? I'm not hitting anything huge just local fair pulls and events, nothing major or for points. The only guys that I have ever seen tech are huge dodge guys and are pretty absent minded about chevy's.

Just looking for experiences i guess? I don't care if i have to pull in 2.6 but i mean, who doesn't want the trophy or money!:thumb:

From what i have found which there is kind of limited information on the 4094's but people are liking them well...I haven't seen any dyno numbers on them though...

I'm not neccisarily looking to cheat either but I want to upgrade the charger but still hit the local pulls and actually stand a chance.

Just wonder how often people actually get checked when the turbo looks just like a stock one but doesn't really sound like one.

that's the problem with the 4094 though, i believe it's like 2.65 or .68 something like that, will pass a 2.6 plug but i'm trying to get by with it in workstock... I'll probably just get it and try it anyways.

I had a 4094 on my truck and loved it, but I ran into the trouble that it was either too big or too small. It's 2.72 charger and I couldn't pull with the 2.6 class and when I jump up to the 2.8 class I got my ass handed too me.

Hmm....suck, what are the chances of getting by with it as stock at brush pulls when the tech has no clue what he is looking at?

on edit: and what was your take on it daily driving and towing?

I got by with it until some other trucks that were close to me got pissed. They started wondering why I was putting 30 ft on them and before I knew it I had to pull in the 2.8. Daily driving was ok once I got use to the spool up. I have the 6 speed ali so when I towed, I ran in 5th and it was fine. Just had to keep the rpm's up.

Sweet! that's what i like to hear, i'll only be pulling 3 or 4 this year so i should be alright...plus i'll still be losing to built motored dodge of my buddy's that i pull with a stock but not so stock look-a-like. They let him pull so i should be good.

why not just get a Danville stage 2 with a 2.5 cover on it? I would be a great upgrade from stock and still pass a slug test. It's built out of your LLY turbo so it couldn't get much more "stock appearing" as that.

4094r or 4094vvt? I'm pretty sure the 4094r is bigger. The vvt is very close to 2.6 from what I measured.

I had the 4094r and when it spooled up you could definately tell it was not stock. I really liked the turbo but as I got hooked into sled pullin and wanted to pull more I was kinda screwed by the size. I love my 2.6 that I have now and it looks stock but you sure can't hide the whistle.

i hope u feel real good about ur self when you beat everybody else with ur 2.8 charger in a 2.5 class, if u want to run a charger that big run it in the right class do you really thinks its alrite to pull in the stock class?
