Haven't posted in a while so just a quick update. Started off this build laying down 1199hp on the dyno and running a 10.28 at 6400lbs before running into a trans issue. Despite the complications, we are still having fun pushing this build to its limits. Water pump failure and some shifting woes kept us from going faster on the last outing. Managed a couple personal bests with a 1.47 60ft, 140mph trap speed, and a 10.18 ET. They just were all accomplished on the same pass . Final pass on the last outing managed a 10.25 @ 117mph as we puked coolant on the big end due to the water pump failure.

JoshH got a wild hair the night before going to the track and decided to strip it down. We pulled 900lbs out in about 2hrs. Race weight ended up around 5500lbs with a driver. We already have the fiberglass front clip, still need to order the bed sides. And yes, it is getting a cage. Scheduled to drop off the first week in April.

Current setup is a box sxe 472/87/1.0 & Forced Inductions 491/100/1.45, dual 10mm Exergy and S&S pumps, and 250% F1 Diesel injectors. Steed Speed manifolds and 2-1/4" uppipes. Long block is a SoCal Diesel assembly with a narrow rod billet crank, Carillo rods, forged pistons, 9100af cam, stage 1 heads, girdle, etc. Running a Goerend K converter at the moment, billet input and output, billet c2 hub, stock planetary. JoshH will have to shed some light on the clutches.

Damn so what changed on the 117 MPH to the 140 MPH run cause the ET didn’t change but by .07 . A little Juice or Upped the tuning ? Looks like y’all had fun ! :thumb:

Thanks guys. If it's not fun and frustrating at the same time then it's not worth doing. But I think Josh stays frustrated while I have fun. Lol, same same.

Same tune. The MPH change was due to shutting it down when coolant covered the windshield. Pretty sure that would have been our 9 sec pass but not worth destroying a block when its boiling out coolant from a lack of circulation. If you look close on the big end you can barely see the moisture spray on the passenger side in the video. Haven't ran the big tune yet, we need to work out the bugs first.

Boy do I know the feeling only I’m both the frustrated one and the one having fun although occasionally I let my son make a pass or two , he weighs about 50# less than me . :D

A little humor on the officer pulling us over...

Josh was driving the LBZ to the track while my wife and I were following with the trailer. My radar detector went off and I saw her sitting in the median. Flashed my lights a few time and Josh thought that meant go instead of slow. He was literally just getting into boost and rolling out right when he passed her. My wife and I were dying laughing.

Luckily, Josh wasn't much over the speed limit by the time he saw her too. She was very nice and let him off with a warning. Thought maybe Josh would get her phone number but no dice.

Hows those manifolds? Looks sweet
Manifolds are holding up perfectly so far. Fit and finish is great. Leen has done a great job on them, only change on the production design is the NPT ports will be moved a tad further forward so the bolts can be removed without removing the NPT fitting. No data yet on performance comparison from our end yet, but they have done well on an engine dyno vs cast manifolds via another test dummy.

I have tossed around the idea of letting my wife run it for an easy 130lbs weight reduction but if it makes me pucker at full tilt I am afraid she will struggle to control it, especially if something goes south. She is definately more consistent on the tree than I am but for now we will keep her running the mild rigs and maybe grow into it.

I know the feeling, my reg cab has been having water pump issues as well, I had to plug weld the pump pulley on it. :D

I love this thread...
