Today I installed a new amp and speakers in my truck

I installed a pioneer Deck long time ago and just now decided to get it running

The amp has power but no sound out of the rear speakers that are hooed to it?

It has audio left right cables hooked from the deck to the amp,But i dont know if that connection is working....How can i check that without pulling the deck?

Might see if the deck has a menu and requires activating the ports? Probably not but?

Stick your tounge to it:D

Use a multi meter silly set on AC. Be better if you can find one that reads Frequency. But you should see something with a regular Multi meter with the deck on;)

what pioneer head unit? and what amp?

that will help a bit it could be the pre-outs on the head unit are shot or the amp is set way to low for the speakers you have it running. I know my subs need a min of 500watts to even move them let alone get sound that you can hear.

Are you able to put your hand on the speaker to feel if it is moving at all?

How good is the ground on it?

Also the amp is a good amp I have put a few of them in cars for people that just want a bit more sound. Just trying to pick away that the things I would be looking for. Have you made sure the "Gain" is not set to the min? An easy way to test things is find a friend with amps too and get some longer RCA's and use him preouts to test the amp if it works you preouts may be shot in the head unit. you can also try your preouts to his amp to see if they work if so the amp is fried.

I have an older Alpine V12 MRD-M1000 sitting here to me to take apart and fix the inputs as it had been in and out so much the are now weak and only work 50% of the time.

The amp is a 4 channel amp and the head unit has front, rear, and sub RCA outputs. If the front speakers are working, you can switch the front RCA cables to the rear and see if the speakers start working then. If they don't, there is something wrong with your amp. If they do, then the problem is between the RCA and head unit. Also make sure the fader on the head unit is not all the way to the front. If I misunderstood how you have your system connected, please let me know. One way or the other, we will help you get this figured out.
