Steering shaft ?

How hard is it replace the steering shaft ? I'm getting tired of the clunking and rattling . Just did control arms pitman arm Idler arm and bracket and tie rods .

Throw a hose clamp over the white bearing on the shaft down by where your feet are. Ill try and attach a photo

No doesn't affect turning or anything. All it does is stop the rattle and clunking like i had. I guess over time the bearing will fail i read that its a pain to replace but i could be wrong. Found that little mod online and ot works like a charm

Hell it only been clunking for about 175k . Almost forgot what it's suppose to feel like

I know i bought mine with the same rattle it drove me nuts did that mod and it was back to peace and quiet in my cab

Did the hose clamp trick . Worked like a champ . Thanks guys . Now all left of new shocks next payday .

I went this route. I have enough hose clamps and zip ties as it is lol

I almost did the same thing but after dropping 500 on parts for my front end rebuild last week I went the 1.09$ route for now .
