Dunno, Wade seems to be more a cat person.
Pat all you gotta do is get rid of those piece of junk mahle pistons and put in some ross or arias pistons and you issu'es will likely go away.

Show us 5600 then.
I posted a 5250rpm pass log years ago at a national event.
Surely you can beat that. (not idling, let's see it shift at 5000+.)
Steel pistons will be a step backwards. IMO. More weight, More cost, More eventual problems elsewhere in the engine.
Aluminum pistons are fine, you just need to use the right materials and build according to what you are doing.
If aluminum was a issue in racing top fuel and every other form of racing would not use them. Our diesels dont see 25% of the stress a top fuel engine does. Not even close! Aluminum pistons are not the issue.
There are three reasons aluminum pistons wont work for you.
(1) Your builder is not qualified to properly build a engine with the correct parts combination.
(2) You or your tuner is not qualified to be writing tunes for a racing engine.
(3) Both of the above.
This is all i could get to load. Can you point out all the issue's? , 5.43 @ 130+ run :thumb:
What's up with the lateral g's and acceleration g's? Was this on a dyno? Do you have any track logs/picture you can share?
Still didn't get to 5600 :baby: just picking, thanks for the post.
if you look at the cursor it at the end of the run, right when i shut it off. hence the low boost, accel and lateral g's
that run had over 2.5 g's of accel in first gear (after it recovered from it's bog of course) and just under 2 g's in second and still a g in third.
lateral g's on that run were over .5 g's on both sides of center lateral due to the rear end being so loose during the shifts
With all the tire spinning and tire shaking present, it did well.
The rpm and drive shaft lines should be smooth as glass when you have a good run with everything close to 100%
here is a vid of that run http://www.youtube.com/user/ngmdieselracing#p/a/u/1/kAHP6n53iFw
listen close you can hear the tires hoppin/shakin in first and second gear
Wade, So your program is in the very early stages of development from how it sounds.... is there plans for 1/4 mile racing this year seeing how you seem to have half the race sorted out. Would love to see those logs when this happens, nice log sheet and thanks for the share of data.
