How does one go about getting some sponsors? Lol on an army paycheck this build is never gonna happen, who wants to donate some parts lol jk, but I am interested in how to get sponsors. I've been away from this sport for 2.5 yrs because of my commitment to the army however several serious injuries have basically wiped me out of being able to train, so now I have a lot more time on my hands and desperately want to get back into this sport that I love. If u have seen my other post in the build section you know that shortly after getting back into having time for my truck I had an injector go bad with no signs and it cracked a piston. It has been sitting ever since. Hopefully sooner than later I'll get the funds togeather and turn this thing into a ****ing doomsday machine and start tearing up a pull or drag strip near you !!!! Any and all info is welcome thanks guys!!

Honestly dude to get a sponsor ship your gonna have go spend a shit ton of money and make a name for yourself. People don't give parts away, they might cut you a break on them but don't expect free stuff.

Go out build your truck, compete and place well with a good head on you shoulders, help the diesel sport and then maybe you can win a sponsor to cut you a break on parts.

Pretty much what I figured clrussell...I don't expect free anything. Just wanted to see how the sponsorships work. Maybe I came off as trying to get "free stuff", I'm not. And I realize these companies don't just throw you parts for nothing, they would never make money doing that. I have plans of building this thing and competing as much as I can after all I care about this sport a lot and want to be a part of its growth. Just going through a tuff time right now physically and mentally dealing with these injuries and surgeries, Shit sucks!!!!

that's exactly right, once you have some time slips/events/shows under your belt and companies see that it could be a benefit to slap a sticker on your truck for advertisement that's when they consider it.

Way to much bullshit going sideways at once haha.

biggest thing is being able to market your self and show your worth their money. Some can do this without even owning a truck cause they can swindle that well, others use their back ground and show how well they do to show that if you gain their sponsorship, it wont go unnoticed.

We went through this desert racing years ago. talk about a dry sport for sponsorships to cover much of anything. Since then its grown in popularity and so have the sponsors but the fact we even got 2 sponsors was quite the feat back then. No idea in the diesel sport but marketing yourself is something that transfers to all sports for sponsorships

I did last year at a local track I ran it all summer and I technical don't have sponsors. Wehrli and Duramax Tuner are the only 2 that helped me with anything for this current build. I'm not In it to compete. I built the truck this time around for pure enjoyment.

Katie I sure hope you enjoyed building it but if it stays turned up all the time you won't enjoy fixing it regularly.

Lol, putting your best foot forward makes you think of robbery eh? :spit:

I can understand being in the army would probably be tough though. But it sounds like you're truck is off to a good start at least!
Thanks brotha, and yea I've got a lot of medical issues going on right now (4 bulged discs) all pushing on my siatic, a rare kidney condition that causes severe pain and pissing lots of blood. Also make and pass kidney stones every week and a few other things as well as complications do to several unsuccessful kidney surgeries ...and the army is dicking me around about getting this Shit fixed. Plus it's really hard for me to deal with the fact that my career is over and I can't train anymore....I'm an infantrymen fighting is what in do...and now I can't. So yea man there's just a lot on my plate right now
