Do you have any pictures of the probe after the failure? I find it hard to believe it just melted off, only time Ive seen that happen was a 1/16" t-couple being exposed to 1600F+ in an instrumented DPF...

What kind of fittings were used for the thermocouple? How deep was it inserted during install?

If it was pushed all the way in then torqued down, its possible the tip rubbed on the other side of the manifold

It has ATS manifolds on it, they are bigger than my stock manifolds and I have the same probe/gauge????????

Is there a collar built into the probe that you tighten a nut down on to hold it in place so it can only be set at one depth, or is it a compression fitting with a ferrule where you can place it at any depth you desire?

They claimed that it had to be an outside force on the probe that destroyed it??? In their instructions it says you can bend it????? We didn't but if an outside force will break the probe, why can we bend them????????????????????????????

Sounds like SPA took Jeremy for a ride. The probe probably got brittle with the heat and the vibrations were enough to shake it apart. It doesn't seem like rocket science to me. No matter how many you build its always possible that there could be an imperfection in any unit.

From my perspective, I don't see how that could end up like that any way BESIDES melting or manufacturing defects. That tiny wire inside is way more fragile than the casing. The only way I can see that the wire not getting ripped off is if the probe fractured or melted.

The only other thing I can think of is if the probe was gripped in wire cutters or something that put a sharp cut in the casing, causing later failure. That could occur at manufacturing or instillation.

Hope you get the truck running soon, and get this sorted out.

Its a tiny piece of wire with nothing to support it. After the rest of it blew apart it would take no effort to bend it.

I would assume so? It was not bent going in I know that. And according to SPA instructions you can bend it and it will be fine just no sharp bends?????? That wouldn't have been a sharp bend.......
