I guess its pretty obvious now that I am involved in this:eek: But it is actually a collaboration of several professionals and has been on the drawing table for over 4 months. Please do not contact me about getting one of these as they are exclusive to Mike L.

Yes the pics are so small they are just about useless:spit: so here are some better ones and a few specs. All tubing is 4130 chromoly and brackets are 1018 Cold Rolled bar. The brackets are made on a CNC mill (not a plasma or waterjet) to guarantee a perfect fit every time and it is assembled in a ultra heavy duty fixture to eliminate any variation. All welds are also made with the "proper" wire to ensure a crack free life.....not 4130 wire which requires stress reliving or 70 s-2 which is much weaker than the base metal.

What is the reason for using alloy tube instead of mild steel?

Same as a roll bar or cage. Its stronger than MS so you can use thinner material and have the same strength and be lighter. In this case it is both lighter and stronger than the MS alternative that was concidered.
