so you're saying you'd feel completely comfortable shooting and killing someone for stealing $600 worth of gauges from your truck.

Killing... that is debatable. Shot... shure, risk of the job.

You don't steal, unless you are dying of hunger and steal food.

dont shoot someone unless your intent is to kill them.....you shoot to wound, they pull out a gun, and they shoot to kill.....

You guys have some great gun control laws in Texas like Benny said here in CT we have to have the mind set of shoot ONLY if you've been shot or are backed into a corner with no way out!

If we'd shoot someone OUTSIDE stealing guages or a barbecue we'd be in jail and the perp would be living in our house. So unfortunately we have to have the mind set of ask questions ,cower, run into the house and call the police and hope they show up for a incident report.

Maybe he just popped the door open quick and took what he could reach the easiest??

I still have that beat. I got my Suzuki Quadsport stolen off the farm 15 years ago. Our house had just burned down and we were starting to rebuild. We were living in a mobile home we put on the property during the process. The burned remains of the house still there and they have the nerve to steal my quad.:villagers:

I caught some guys here in California breaking into my truck and held them at gun point till the cops showed up and was put in cuffs in the cop car while they stood there answering questions like they did nothing wrong. Sure wish I was back home.

Its like that Dane Cook part, WTF DID THEY TAKE!?!?!?!?!?

:roflmao:

Sorry to hear that happened though. If it was your average dumbass they would have cut the wires. As was said before, they knew what they were doing.

As far as the shooting of theives, it comes down to one thing. It doesn't matter what you get shot with, there is only one thing going though your mind: "I dont want to get shot again." Dead men don't tell stories.

You need to think if anyone has talked to you about your gauges or asked about them anyone that you would have told that they have a seperate control box cause ive installed lots of gauges on gas and a few on diesels and I did not know that any come with a sepert control box. Think of anyone you know that knows you have those gauges and that know they have a sep control box.

By the way.
You come to my house to steel shit and you will be looking down the barrel of a 10ga.

People steel shit cause they think, no one is going to hurt me over some $600 gauges whats the worst thats going to happen, I have to run away or I go to jail for a few days.

Sorry to hear, Ben. The thief had to be familiar with the type of gauges you had, has talked to you about your truck in the past, and/or had you show them how you installed the gauges. So its probably someone you know locally. They've been to your home before.

Did you ever make a thread on your install with pics, like you do for most of your mods? They could have seen that.

When my truck got broke into in the driveway, they were 15 feet from my son's room, and I surmise that the only reason they hightailed it is because he turned his lights on at 6am to get ready for school.

I feel for ya man. My wife and I got broke into this time last year. Cleaned about 6500 in guns, tv, laptop, camera, and money. Didn't take anything that wasn't valuable. Did it on my day off when i was at the dentist. What a pleasant surprise to come back, wake up to something like that

I dont care if its a $6 guage anyone found at my place at night will be found there the next morning

And then you would be found in jail shortly thereafter...

"A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect his property to the degree he reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, theft during the nighttime or criminal mischief during the nighttime, and he reasonably believes that the property cannot be protected by any other means."

(Texas Penal Code) Section 23, Sections 9.32, 9.33, and 9.34.

Keep an eye out on ebay and craigslist, if they know you, doubt they would install them themselves but may try and sell them, never know you just might find them for sale down the street
