Ok if any of you guys have had weird things happen to your trucks, I guarantee this tops it.

So we live out in the middle of nowhere. NOWHERE. Dead end road, and on average, maybe 2 cars pass our driveway per day. You cant see neighbors houses from our house, its all woods, you cant see our house from the road etc... Its just fields, woods, some old houses, and deer.

I woke up this morning to take some stuff to the UPS store to be shipped...I noticed my door was cracked (not shut all the way), and the dome-light-disable button had been pushed...I thought that was weird. I hop in my truck, grab the keys from the floor (up until last night we never locked our cars and 90% of the time just left the keys in them), start the truck and out of the corner of my eye I dont see the familiar light-up sequence of my autometer Nexus gauges. I look and WTF!!! THEY'RE GONE!!!!!

Nothing else was touched in my truck. My ipod/camera in the center console, the keys to my truck on the floor, radar detector, the keys to my S4 (which was parked right next to the truck) were in the trucks center console, none of that stuff was touched.

I looked closer, and all the wiring was carefully removed, nothing was forced, the Nexus control module that I had mounted way up/under the dash was UNPLUGGED/removed, etc... The gauge system wasnt ripped out or forced. It was UNINSTALLED. Must have taken the asshole like 20 minutes, I had it installed that carefully/neatly, AND they took it out equally as carefully/neatly.

The lights in the house were on, the garage doors were open, etc... My sister even left the TV on, which you can see through the window where my truck was parked...so while the dude was stealing my gauges, someone in my family could have easily been sitting 30 feet away watching TV.

At one point in the middle of the night, one of our dogs (the other one is old and deaf) suddenly got up and started walking around, growling, etc...unfortunately we just ignored him and told him to be quiet because he tends to "cry wolf" sometimes.

So basically it just boggles my mind...I mean they are really nice gauges that are a lot more expensive than your average boost/EGT gauges......but seriously...for someone to drive wayyyy the hell up here where I live, when EVERYONE was home, lights on, TV on, and take ~15-20 minutes to carefully remove my gauges and take nothing else....WTF. Its creepy.

Damn Ben that sucks man. Maybe not someone you know, but deff someone that's been watching you. Can you remeber seeing the same truck or car a few times and maybe never thought anything of it? At least you know it was someone familiar with aftermarket parts...

i'd start looking for people that have experience with aftermarket electronics. do you have any "friends" that really liked your gauges?

Had my wallet and phone taken outta my truck in front of my house. A road crew found my foid card, gov't credit card and a couple other things along the road... the rest is still MIA. Did touch my $450 camera, subs, or anything else in the truck.

If i was you i would just get another pillar and act as if nothing happened. If it's someone you know and they ask what happened to them just act as if you sold them or took them out because you were tired of the look. Then feel out their response and go with your gut.

That's crazy. Sorry to hear it. I have a 79 Formula Firebird that was my first car. Bought when I was 17. Hope to restore one day. It was up on blocks, no wheels on it, on my buddys property. A local wrecking yard loaded it up with their personal vehicle and a trailer, witnessed by an adjacent business. They have a wrecker. Stuffed it in the back of their yard in a hidy hole. the only way I found it was I put posters up and a guy I owe a lot of thanks to saw it and phoned me cause he saw it there. I had to get the cops out there cause he said he bought it from somebody else. Paperwork conveniently lost and he wanted me to pay the tow bill for him to haul it to his yard! Lol! People can sure be messed up!
