Just found this in GMs specs of tranny RandR... so is resuing converter bolts ok?

Trans will be out in a couple weeks at Mike Ls once its running and I drive it out, so I could put new ones in then....

If reusing the torque converter bolts, clean the bolt threads and apply LOCTITE 242 GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489)

Ah hah perfect I already bought the hose... awesome.

OK me and my buddy are going to lunch but have made some good progress... most of the fuel lines are on and injector harness etc.

I need to find the 4 studs for my tstat housing.... theyre missing.

I found the 2 coolant y gaskets I needed, but I need the large o ring for the black coolant tube that goes down from below the tstat housing.

I need to mount up the injector return harness on the pass side, I know there is a bracket to do it but I cant figure out how it goes.... anyone have a pic of this area?

Also have this bracket that says pass lower side... I know it goes vertical... where and whats it hold?

prob a day late and a dollar short, but here are some pics. the black bracket you are showing in the second pic is the fan shroud bracket and mounts parallel with the truck (horizontal).

OK trucks out, preparing things. Should I put the injector harness on before it goes in? Seems like it would probably be easier.

What about bracketry on the rear of the motor? Im trying to get the motor sooner than later and plan to attach as much as I can once its in the truck. Are there any brackets IE GPCM or something I need to install to the rear of the engine? I circles some empty holes in red.

What goes into this port by the oil filter?

oilport.jpg

here is a pic of the back of my motor as it went into the frame. i hope you did what Jason said and put the cooler line on before it went into the truck.;) then just use the 180* hose to go back into the firewall. the empty bolt holes on the pass side are for the egr bracket. dont worry about any of those except for the coolant line by the oil filter

Matt , I have re-used my converter bolts before also, along with Dimitri's truck and Matt lasons . It is a risk though .................... and they still have to be the propper bolt and not stockers .

I have my converter bolts Mike put in 15k ago when he did my trans. As soon as the truck is together and Im confident driving it around town for a few days im not going to have a problem Im driving back down to see mike to have him do input/output shafts, C3 oiler, T case brace and a couple other things, so he could put new bolts in then.

Otherwise, Jason is coming up Sunday and will bring some.

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY! Sundays the day (or night) it should be running! :happy2:

Picked up that lower o-ring. Need to call Guy and see if he has Injector return line clips.

I think Im going to reuse my converter bolts with loctite 242 for the time being until Mikes.

if Mike ships them today you will have them by friday... why risk it?
