when are people going to learn that messing with defuel in the TCM tune is a bad idea? I would think Nick should know better by now...

I'm sure it had a lot to do with burning the tires off through a couple gears and I was doing about 80 mph when the nitto 420s finally hooked up, I don't think that there's solely one person to blame, but I am going to give him a call Monday and get his input, the builder of the trans is going to drop the tranny and tear into it for free see if he thinks it should be warrantied and ill inform everyone what happens from there. Thanks for all the input so far

That would certainly contribute. I would've had the same carnage a year ago had I not had a sleeved c2 hub.

I'd like to also add that 3 weeks ago I had the fluid changed and new filters with no debris in the filters and the old fluid looked great, So do you think that the defuel is what caused this to happen? Its just the truck was running really good there was no slipping or anything, and I had raped on it earlier in the night when the pavement was completely dry and it didnt skip a beat..

Hard to say.A good tuner will tune your truck to run hard.A great tuner will tune your truck to run hard and atempt to keep your motor and trans safe from you.We have all had breakage of some sort,a good friend of mine had an lbz and took the defuel out inbetween shifts and his truck ran hard, they offered to change the trans fluid in my truck(after i 1st got it) he took the defuel off in my truck without asking and my trans fryed and so did his shortly after.I know taking away or messing with the defuel is a no no for sure.Only way to know is if the tune was unlocked and a professional could look at it i guess,im no efi live tuner.

My TCM has had no defuel for 4 years? Seems fine to me

mine did as well.... splines on hub and evrything else looked perfect when i tore it down month ago beat that trans for 100k miles to:confused:

mike has a trash can with my c1-c3 clutches due to no defuel in my tuning. My splines are were just starting to twist as well. wouldnt have been much longer my 3-4 shift would have destroyed the hub

And no, steves tuning wasnt the one with no defuel in it ;).
