Couple ways to look at it I guess. Pretty ingenuitive to get a intake from an older truck to work with the lmm maf!

Thing is, if he would've trimmed the tree to the shape of the maf, you'd have never even noticed it.

That exhaust sure had seen better days. Just got to love salted roads.

Yeah sprinters are lovely. Shop I work for finally broke down and bought the Chinese version of the Xentry scan tool for them. Made things a lot easier. Chasing SCR issues is a real treat.

I'm not a welder by all means but is that due to not having the gas turned on? And yes, Stevie Wonder could have done better.

no lol. thats from not enough heat, too much wire speed and sticking your arm out, closing your eyes and wiggling the torch all over

In this guy's defense, the material was so thin at the crack that I couldn't weld it at all. It would blow thru on my lowest heat setting. But he must have had wire speed set on kill because it looks like every time he burnt thru, the wire would travel almost the entire diameter of the pipe and arc on the opposite wall!! I ended up making a sleeve and welding er up.

Here a good one. 14 Cummins that a guy couldn't keeping trans cooler line from leaking. Had a Dodge store replace them last week and they complained it took an entire day. He brings it here to trade on another truck and I find this. The entire bucket that serves as the shock and cool spring tower peeled right off the frame from the front. So it ends up rubbing the trans line thru completely. This truck has no reported accidents on history reports and there is no frame damage otherwise. By looking into it further, I could see that the front welds that are on the outboard side of the frame did not penetrate the frame at all. Which led to it tearing the weld that is parallel to the frame, on top of the frame against the turbo. As of now, our local Dodge dealership says it should be warranted but may take a while to get everything inspected, blah blah.

Ah, but the real questions are,

1) Did the guy NOT sell you his truck after you found that?
or
2) Are you going to make some good money on that truck now?

He will be trading it in but will be getting Dodge to do something about it first(hopefully soon).

When I was a tech at dodge I remember A recall where we had to weld on these newer brackets to fix a coil spring mount issue as they were cracking, that was back in i want to say early 2000's? wierd never seen that in a newer truck.
