I finally got her nestled right where I want it. After head studs, and new grade c's, filter head delete, and a new 850 hp rated south bend dual disc she's with in a few days of a test drive. Ecm is getting updated at duramax tuner. My custom pedestal is done. Waiting for my exhaust v band so I can make a 4 inch down pipe. Then make a 5 inch intake and I can take her for a test drive and see how low in the 12s my new custom short throw will put me. I honestly can't wait to see what this thing has when it's done. I did just get a go pro so I'll keep u guys posted. I have a lot of little thing to do to get her ready for next year.

BTW anyone have any idea on a hot side adapter boot to go from the race cover to the hot side pipe? I thought I could extend my hot side with a piece of 3 inch aluminum and weld a bead around it? it's all 3 inch after the necked down part of the pipe correct? I'd be cutting the necked down part off and replacing it. Or is there a boot I can buy?

Building this saved me a wad of cash minus the up pipe flange (thanks rick) it did just what I needed it to. This was before I painted it black. It was fun and makes me that much more proud of the project. I can't wait to make my air box and Intake piping.

You gonna run the stock hot side stuff? I did with my 472 and just bought the vband and a reducer on race parts solutions. Welded them together and it's been working great.

Maybe we're talking two different things the outlet on the turbo is a boot style it's just to big for the hot side pipe. I'll need Luke a 45 degree 3 inch to 2 1\2 inch boot. I think, as long as the measurements are right.

Ahh....I just assumed you had a V-band outlet, because that's what most race covers come with. You might just want to buy a new hot side intercooler pipe, most aftermarket one do away with the long sweeping boot and are 3" dia all the way.

The outlet of the compressor and hot pipe should be the same size, 3".

They stock hot side I believe is 3" but it necks down at the top about 3 inches or so from the end. I wish I could buy a hsp hot side pipe but I'm trying to be budget friendly because I have a daughter due halloween. So I'm making everything i can.
