Hey man you've seen my motor when you push the limits. There have been guys who have seld pulled with a big single and their trucks lasted with stock rods but I don't think they drove them all that often.

Yeah man I remember your old block it makes me sick thinking about it. If I had the 366 I would only use the big tune for sled pulling.. Other then that I have my car and I would be easy on the dmax... .. But you know things happen.

A 66/74/14 would work nice for you then add a twin later. Comes with a race cover SS exhaust housing 360 thrust washer.

If you think you can stay out of the big tune then go for it. I never used anything other then my big tune with my twins and now with the built motor I'm never off my small tune haha

Buy a beater you can DD with. Personally, I dont see why everyone wants a buttload of HP and still be their only mode of transportation.

x2. Smartest thing I ever did was buy a second vehicle.

Anytime you run these trucks at serious HP level you never know when something is gonna let go. And believe me its the worst feeling in the world when your only daily driver blows up.

And its always fun to be able to just take the car (S4) out when im in the mood to zip around the twisty back roads with a manual transmission...cant very well do that in my truck. :)

And second of all.....if you are worried about EGT's....do twins. I dont care how fancy or special or custom your single is, there is NO single turbo out there that will even come close to the EGT reduction that you'll see with twins.

I think that would be a pretty nice setup. Honestly i wish i would have done a billet 66 smaller injectors and billet rods...You could live at that level driving it conservatively.

Justin, with your new build I sure you will be ok ;) let that monster eat!! By the way how do you like the single vs. The twins.. I got to see you build your new motor and was there for the first fire up but never got a ride before you shipped it off.. What's up with that:confused:

I agree with ben I am on my second aftermarket turbo and peak Egt's havent changed much. They dont climb as fast and it is definitely is better towing but if you want serious egt reduction you want twins.

I personally have more faith in my pistons than rods so I went with a single and live with the higher egt's

What do you want to spend? I loved my twins but I really enjoy my single. Altho if I had to do it all over again I would have tried to keep the twins because now I just want to put twins back on lol

Well man my intentions are to be sitting with twins with a built motor in a few years. I have a bad ass setup for work stock class right now and I'm enjoying winning with no problem at the moment:D.. But the idea of a 366 single would be my small turbo in the future. I don't think I would be able to sleep at night if I put twins on my stock motor judging off of your experience and what I know about crazy low end torque on stock rods.
J just called Dustin to buy my profab up pipes and that should bring down the egts a little.. In the mean time I guess I will stay in the stock class and twin when I build later.. Its just to scetchy for ME to have a 366 under my hood at the moment.. I like winning and hate bent rods...

If you just run a big tune on the track, that motor will surprise you how long it will live. Ive seen at least 1 stock bottom end LLY with near 900RWHP hook better than 60 times in one season and lived to tell the tale. The rods where bent, but the truck still ran and was still hooking when the built motor went in.
