I just cant wait to see this thing in person :thumb:

You won't be able to, it gets covered up by all that crap on top;). The only reason I polished it up, was for it's 30 seconds of fame.

No problem Rob, stay tuned! As soon as Matt's truck is done, The runners will be in the works. I should have the flanges from the CNC by then.

Here are a few pics of it before it got welded up. I've got to pull it back off the truck one more time. I'll snap a few finished pic's, when I do.

Thats really nice Russ...when I start building my twins setup sometime soon I would be very interested in using this.

Out of curiosity, is the piping on your bridge 'just so' so that you can remove the bridge with the (stock-sized) turbo in place? IMO its basically impossible to get to those lower rearmost nuts/bolts with the turbo in place...

What makes it nice is because of the two 90's, there is alot more room to reach around to get to the bottom four bolts. I did not plan on it, it just happened that way. There is alot more room for a better flowing mouth piece as well, because the 90's are tilted foward 45 degree's. I had to make the "Horn" of the intake longer then I wanted, so I could get a V-band in there. It ends right behind the alt. I've got something better in the work's, that will be more for the max effort trucks.

What size is the single inlet pipe? Can you post photos of it when it is all done and plumbed to the intercooler tube?

This must be used with the LBZ runners and are you still running a stock turbo?

Just a? but has anybody tried mounting the twins like the cummins guys do? both on the side of the engine? I was thinking about going to a single and pulling this year, and doing something with a remote mount, but i think im gonna stick to the strip, and keep the twins. But ive been brain storming about an intake also, making more room for the runners.

Ive wondered about that too from time to time when i get bored. It would take a lot of precision fab, and it would be tight but i think it could be pulled off. Only issue i see is tire clearance, you can modify the fender liner all you want but the tire is still there. Id look more closely but its hard to brainstorm clearances with the motor out of the truck.

So do you think it would be better to reverse the flow of the manifolds and run the pipes up front of the motor?? Or I suppose that would depend on where the high pressure turbo ended up.

05Smoker did this set up on his old pulling truck, not twins but with a single. From reading it was a big project and alot of fab work, but doable. Reversed manifolds worked, but had to do away with the fan and go with electric fans for clearance issues for the uppipes. Plently of pictures and reading in his thread...

Yes i read about that awhile back and the issues he had with the size of the piping.

I think it could work, I wouldnt be stuffing a GT42 and GT55 in there. I let rob and tim figure out how to do that.

But I think it would be easier to work on rather than having all of the plumbing across the motor and a turbo in the valley.

Thats what i was thinking. Tim and I have been brainstorming a few ideas to make more room for an intake. The longer the run, the more heat it will lose thus harder to light the charger, if i was sticking with a single, i was going to run the driver side manifold pointed towards the front, and the uppipe would come around the front side, (got all sorts of room with the electric fans) and then you have all sorts of room for a intake like the banks style. I dont know if theres enough room for a 42 and a 55 over there though.

One thing a guy could try is bring the up-pipes to their stock location, but then have a custom flange going to a single 3" pipe. Then, have it wrap over the top of the p/s bank at the rear of the engine and then into the turbo. A guy could ceramic coat and wrap the pipe to help keep the heat in and it would work well IMO. You would need a guy with TIG skills like Paul to do the fabricating though.:D

This would leave you all the room you possibly could ever need to make nice big runners and a bridge and would allow you to keep the pulley fan.

OR even bring the piping around the back of the p/s head like is done with the one pipe in most twin kits!

I like this Idea Dale , sounds easy , clean and like the idea of equal length per cylinder .

I know a guy named Russ that can tig better than anything I've ever seen so I'm sure a guy like him could build one too Dale :D
