I have no dog in this hunt, nor do I know the background.

I did catch a little heat for not deleting this thread, but I'm not about to start censoring debate concerning diesel racing. While we don't allow political discussion here, race discussion is welcome even if it's heated.

You gotta admit, it's comedy no matter what the particulars are.

From what I read over on CompD this whole thing sounds like a bunch of douche-baggery on the part of the associations/organizations that are involved. It is my opinion that whatever the reasons are for not paying out should be given straight up to those whom they owe. There are probably not very many guys that are only into diesel motorsports for the money. It is a shame that there are those organizations that choose to divide instead or uniting.

Money

The money was paid out just like the event in the spring. Same payout as the spring race so i'm not sure how there would have been a payout issue.

Payouts are really just a very small part of this entire ordeal, but here are the first place payouts for unlimited(all based on less than 6 trucks) at the NADM races I attended: Terre Haute...350$
Columbus part 1...750$
Salt Lake City...500$
Columbus part 2...750$
When I sent an email requesting payouts for the Texas race, I was told the budget was tight, and they would more than likely be cut.

Last years PRI event race in Orlando, paid 250$ for the win in prostreet.

Thanks for the clarification.

If I remember correct there was only 2 trucks at PRI and I think 3 at terre haute. When there is only a few there it only reasonsthat they can't pay a full payout. NHRDA is the same way. Still not sure what the problem with payout is. I went all the way to Atlanta won the event and got $240! It wasn't about the money I just wanted to have fun. All $240 went for steak and lobster after the event. I never go to a race expecting to win money, If I do it's just a bonus. Jeff

The original statement made that this is all based on, is NADM saying their payouts never change from event to event. The only place I go to and plan on making money is work each day, but I know how far I'm going to have to travel, and how much money is available if I do my job. I dont care if the payout is a free burger for a race win. Just let everyone know up front. Not after the race, and dont claim its the same for each race when its not. Didnt you and I discuss the fact that they didnt even have some cheap trophies to give to the winners? Money doesnt matter, but knowing where you stand does. 3 truck to 5 truck difference cost them 70$, but costs us(the racers) 400$

I agree totally Dallas. This sport would be so much bigger if there was only 1 organization to deal with. It sucks when they both schedule events the same weekend and you have to decide which one to attend. Image how many more trucks would be at the races if they worked together. I love racing, period, but its kind of lame only having the same 8 or 9 trucks show up for a class.
