:D I know;) but she will be going back to you to give it some steroids :rofl: cause she is gonna be making hope fully twice 500 hp:D

who's tuning and what's the spec on the 480 anything else special man those are some good #'s

I'm to blame for the tuning. I detorqued the crap out of it, but apparently not enough. This is why the torque was still climbing rapidly when the pull was stopped. We had room for about 50% more HP under 3000 rpm.

I did my quicky calcs for fuel delivery, and somehow the LMM went higher than LBZ/LLY's with the same settings. I was aiming at 750HP max, with 1200 ft/lb max. What really bites, is I ran Casper's stock engine as high as 1680ft/lb with it's weaker LLY rods, and got a lot of dragstrip passes and dyno sessions out of it before I finally bent the rods with a GT4202 single with dual fuelers.

After all these years, it's the first engine I've hurt on a dyno. Lesson learned the hard way.

I can pretty much guarantee Ruben's twins will go way past 1000rwhp.

granted there were 60 over injectors, but what kind of pulse width would that equate to if the stock injectors were being used.

Thats wild a stocker/s480 W Race cover, makes that much power:thumb: With those kind of numbers it makes me wonder what the real benifit of running a S364 - 66 over S480 really is? external waste gate and slightly lower EGT's? HMM....

I did what I had always done, which ended up being a mistake with an LMM. I started with my LMM race tune, then backed the pedal-torque table way down under 3000rpm, backed the pressure and the timing back under 3000, and it shouldn't have hit torque peak until 3600rpm. But it acted different this time. I'm still perplexed why it bent the rods at a risky, but not suicidal torque level. It should have survived at least a short pull at 1400ftlb. I saw the numbers, then built another tune that was detorqued even further, but we didn't get a chance for a second shot.

But we both knew the risks before we started, and I have a good track record dyno tuning. But I'm human. It was kind of like getting punched in the stomach when I saw the white smoke when we started up for the second pull.:(
