Was that tear caused by the material left in the trans by the previous builder or does it just randomly happen?

Any thoughts as to why it would happen?? Lack of lube?
I have seen c3s tear like that, i have also heard from mike and an allison guy that the oe pistons had this issue.
I seem to be having a stupid moment here, can some one please explain to me how tuning can tear a apply piston?
My Allison engineer told me it was a common problem and Allison had a lot of warranty issues due to the improper bonding of the C3/C4 pistons. This can happen at any time on a stock piston. I've seen many C3 pistons do this but this is the first time I saw a C4 piston do it. It doesn't surprise me since they are identical but C3 is under more stress than C4.
I have yet to see an Alto piston do this.
Tuning cannot tear a piston. It is a bonding issue. Only the bottom lip touches the case surface. These pistons tear above the lip on the side wall and that part of the piston doesn't touch anything.
Soooo....
How does she run now???
I knew tuning didnt cause it, but i seen the lets blame the tuning talk starting so i wanted them to explain how it caused it!! Basiacly i was stiring the pot!!!
I think we took a second or better off his 1/4 mile time.
Nah its fine you can blame me....everyone else does.

Here's your new avatar.
between me not knowing shit about ifs and you not knowing shit about tuning, i think we make a good team
It's all Steve's fault!!!! oke:
If he could figure out how to use the C4 apply piston table.......

I was wrong. I knew what I wanted to say, but my brain sometimes lags behind. It was not tuning as Mike said, and as you know, but I dont think the tuning it had in it before I bought it helped any. It scared me.I knew tuning didnt cause it, but i seen the lets blame the tuning talk starting so i wanted them to explain how it caused it!! Basiacly i was stiring the pot!!!
if they made  for texting, i think id have close to 1,000 by now :roflmao:
Thought that was a "X not reported" in the MIL? No...??? :rofl:It's all Steve's fault!!!! oke:

Think maybe he used the C4 apply chair instead.:roflmao:
