You had better be charging Brian for the tech support calls Mike :D... The tune of 1000$ per call sounds about right

On and off the pedal causes a pretty big load on the transfer case gear train. I see it a lot on 47RE Dodge trans extension housings.

Ah, gotchya. Thank you. Presumably, more common in dodges because they have more low end torque? So a duramax built to produce more low end torque would be more susceptible to this given the driver is binary..correct?

I was just referring to the geartrain shocking...i guess I've been lucky to have customers that aren't chowdaheads enough to beat the piss out of their trucks. Lol. Although, the one tcase i have seen destroyed by driver abuse, was completely destroyed..not even rebuildable

I think the magneseum case is pretty soft on our TC's. On the Dodges I think it's the engine tq. I had a Dodge in last week that wore out the snap ring but the extension housing groove was fine. Gear train was moving back and forth. Washers were wearing out.

Pulled the internal filter, opened it up and here's what I found. Bottom of trans pan had same "metal" material on the bottom.

Loading up the Colorado on a Uhaul trailer and headed to Mikes monday morning. Been to hell and back with this truck

Is this the trans in the colorado:confused: Reason i ask is because you said your loading the rado on a Uhaul trailer and not the dmax. Or are you just rolling the dice and hauling the rado to mikes with the dmax and hoping you make it there and then driving the rado bad home? Goold luck with your journey to Cali i hope everyhting gets panned out with your allison it has been painful just reading the troubles you have had with it. Maybe a fresh trans is what was needed anyways. Atleast you will know what you have now:thumb:

Im dropping off the GMC at Mikes and then driving the Colorado back to PHX, then in reverse order when it's done LOL
