This converter works better than any other converter that I have ever driven. We have driven this up to 9500' in elevation and what a joy to drive. This converter puts the power to the ground. I think of it like a good clutched cvt setup. You put the hammer down it just keeps pulling.

Sounds like I might need to switch over to this converter while my rig is apart. I'm going to the 68 Stg2R, carrillos and fingers, the trans was built with the famous Mike L kit and precision converter back in 09, and has about 100k on it. Figuring I might ought to have it gone through while it's out of the truck already.

Looks like Limitless is about 4 hours from me, AND I might be heading up that direction next week sometime to pick up a block and crank, anyway. This might be fate...or at least that's what I'll tell the wife

Awesome. The trans is sitting in the bed of my other truck right now. I'll try and give you a holler around lunch. Thanks!

Update:

I have programmed out lock up till 68% tps in most situations. I like reving out a little further during part throttle to keep the charger spooled. This converter couples so well that even in spirited driving going into wot the rpm drop is only around 300 rpm or so. My truck is making somewhere around 600rwhp, I find this very impressive. This thing is a blast to drive, I plan on hitting it with 700rwhp soon:D

*Sigh* I really need this converter... 1053 with lock valve mods = rough ass lock up at anything other than full throttle:rofl:

I do too, but I managed a workaround. I run Ben's box on auto mode. I hit it every time that I start the truck. If I don't, my precision converter will just blow through like mad and rpms shoot to the moon while power goes out the tailpipe.

I have Ben's box as well but it still locks really harsh If I don't let out of the throttle just before lock up, it will jar your teeth loose... I think Simon ground the end of the lock up spool completely off:D To be fair the Trans was setup for Race only. I may have to put this converter in and go through the trans anyway, it's been in there 5 years now. I'm curious as to what Simon, Trent, Mike L. and Ted had going on from 5 years ago.

Ouch! He must have. Mine is smooth as buttah'. Ben's box lets the tcm use the ally ramp up table iirc.

My 1058 is very sporadic with the harshness. Sometimes it's like oh dear baby jesus the truck just broke, while other times its not even noticeable. Great converter, love it alot but as Chris (TowU4Free) said there is alot of wasted power. What ya gonna do though. The truck drives and I'm more concerned with getting rid of some debt so it will suffice...for now
