The bolts with rubberbacking go in center around pump, the bolts without go to bell housing on outside, the 2 with copper washers go in the bottom. Like said, us a little rtv on the center rubber ones just to be sure your not pulling it again.

I will check forsure. I thought i had put the cooper/rubber bolts in the correct place but I make a lota mistakes...

I took it for a drive(With the leak) and it seems to drive well other than in first and reverse it just pulls through the breaks really hard--computer still learing to new converter or do I have another problem? I think the old TC was pretty shot and I'm just thinking it might need to learn to the new one. Thoughts?

Maybe the leak is just causing a pressure problem with the converter?

No , with it pushing thru the brakes it sounds as if your not bleeding off pressure from the converter causing it to still be engaged when you come
To a stop. When you pull it out , check your boost valve is not
Stuck , in the stator .

I checked it before I put it in and it seemed free.

How should the ML shift? I took it for a drive and shifting into 3rd(I think) was enough to rattle coins but the other gears were about like stock.(at WOT)

Thanks for being patient with me.

Not normal. Where did you buy your parts from? Why isn't your vendor helping you?

I just cleaned the hole really good and slid the stock one in and out intill the transgo valve seemed to move a little more free, springs back good now. Is there anything different I can do?

I bought my clutch/transgo parts through one of my wholesalers(I sell some auto parts.)

Ok.. I made sure the boost valve was free and I put lots of RTV around the bolts and it is STILL leaking out of the bellhousing and the converter is STILL having lockup trouble. Bad pump maybe:confused:

Are you sure you have all the bolts in the correct location inside the bell housing ?

I am quite confident. This is going to sound funny.. but the leak has stopped. Also the converter lockup is working fine except into 4th gear it shifts way to hard. I've ridin in another truck with the same conveter and I know it should be that hard into 4th and the other ones seem not crisp enough?

The sudden stop could have been from when installing the converter you spilt some tranny fluid and it just finally stopped running, mine did that for awhile.
