I'm in the same boat, I've done everything but have the driveshaft balanced. I sure hope it goes away. Pretty sure its what wrecked the rear housing and caused my extension housing to crack oh and chewed my slip yoke up too

T-case brace, too.

ahh yes I knew I was forgetting something. I'm kicking myself for not doing it in the beginning. Who knows, it could have saved the extension housing

They do more good then harm, I don't see how they can hurt. Only help and there cheap

If your u joint goes bad it will not save your extension housing. If you have harmonic vibration going on in the transfer case; it will not save you.
What it will do is keep broken parts from falling to the ground when you shatter your transfer case. We saw this happen on Casper back in '08 while Pat was making a pass.

Okay, I totally agree with that. With everything being right, it will provide some stability... That's what I thought was meant.

I did not disagree with you. I was just adding my experiences.
Joe Webb and Ron at Suncoast were the first guys to make the brace. They did this because there were a bunch of cracked housings back in '03/'04. I got the first one to install on my truck. Suncoast sold a bunch or them. Most of the guys cracked their housings again after the brace was installed. After closer inspection by a bunch of us guys, we discovered bad u joints. Once the joints were replaced the problem stopped. Allison even redesigned the extension housing. Just giving you guys some history here.:D

Have fun pulling the trans! If you haven't done it before I recommend looking up the Durallymax write up on Scribd.com on how to drop it. It has pictures!!!!!!

Also, you will either need to spend a hundred bucks on the allison spanner nut socket.

Or go to carquest/auto store and buy a spindle nut socket. (Hub socket with 4 prongs) but make sure you buy the hollow one made out of sheet metal. NOT the cast one.
